Introduction: Chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) such as polycythaemia vera (PV) and essential thrombocytosis are associated with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events, especially if JAK2 mutation is there. In rare cases, also spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) can be seen.

Case Presentation: This case series describes two case reports of MPNs in which SCAD was found in both of them in addition to standard atherosclerosis.

Aplastic anemia is a rare hematological disorder characterized by suppressed hematopoiesis and pancytopenia. Although several drugs have been associated with aplastic anemia, its occurrence in response to Osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), is extremely rare. Sideroblastic anemia is a heterogeneous group of disorders typified by the presence of ring sideroblasts in the bone marrow and has congenital and acquired types. The objectives of this research project are to study in patients with primary myelofibrosis (PMF) and Essential Thrombocythemia (ET); (1) the uptake patterns of FLT-PET (FLT-PET) and its value in diagnosing, staging, and treatment response monitoring of malignant hematopoiesis, (2) compare imaging findings from FLT-PET with bone marrow biopsy (standard of care), and (3) associate FLT-PET uptake patterns with genetic makeup such as JAK2 (Janus kinase 2), CALR (Calreticulin), MPL (myeloproliferative leukemia protein), Triple negative disease, and allele burden.This trial is registered in ClinicalTrials.gov with number NCT03116542.

Hepatosplenic γδ T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL) is a very rare peripheral T-cell lymphoma characterized by extranodal infiltration of mature malignant post-thymic T-lymphocytes into sinusoids of the liver and spleen without lymphadenopathy and significant cytopenias. Despite regular blood transfusion and iron chelation therapy, growth impairment and pubertal delay are commonly seen in children and adolescents with transfusion-dependent Beta thalassaemia major (BTM) and sickle cell disease (SCD). We evaluated growth parameters and endocrine disorders in relation to the liver iron concentration (LIC) assessed by the Ferriscan® method in a cohort of adults with SCD (n =40) and BTM (n = 52) receiving blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy since early childhood. Before transfusion, hemoglobin concentration had not been less than 9 g/dl in the past 12 years; subcutaneous daily desferrioxamine was administered for all of them since early childhood (2- 5 years of age).

We report a case of a thalassemia major male patient with back pain associated to severe weakness in lower extremities resulting in the ability to ambulate only with assistance. An urgent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of  thoracic and lumbosacral spine was requested. A posterior intraspinal extradural mass lesion compressing the spinal cord at the level of thoracic T5-8 was present, suggesting an extramedullary hematopoietic centre, compressing the spinal cord.
