N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most widespread endogenous modification affecting the expression of eukaryotic mRNA transcripts. Recent studies have shown that the m6A marks within non-coding RNAs can affect their functions and expression in a manner similar to that of mRNA-coding genes.
