The disposal of waste-printed circuit boards (WPCBs) poses significant environmental and health risks, as they are a major component of e-waste containing hazardous materials. However, WPCBs also contain valuable metallic elements, making them important resources for recycling. To address the dual challenge of hazardous waste management and resource recovery, sustainable approaches for metal extraction from WPCBs are imperative.

Landfilling is the least preferred method in the hierarchy of solid waste management options, but it is the most widely practiced option. Thus, identification of environmentally and economically suitable landfill sites should be of prime importance. The main objective of this study is to identify environmentally and economically suitable landfill sites using fuzzy analytical hierarchy process-based weighted linear combination model within a GIS environment.

Cervical carcinoma (CACX) is still a dreadful threat to women in developing countries. Available conventional chemo-radiation therapies are not sufficient to restrict the disease recurrence. To unravel the mechanism of the disease recurrence, alteration of hedgehog self-renewal pathway was evaluated during development of CACX and in chemo-tolerance of the tumor.

The growing concern over the management of e-wastes has generated an interest in the recovery of resources from these wastes under the concept of urban mining and circular economy. However, in the absence of accurate knowledge of the physico-chemical compositional structure of these wastes makes the recycling process difficult. Thus, the present study conducted a recycling-oriented characterization of waste mobile phones (WMPs) for the identification of secondary materials and estimated their recycling potential.

The hydrological response of watersheds affected by large-scale coal mining activities is complex and difficult to simulate. The present study aims to bridge this gap by simulating the effects of land-use and topographical changes due to coal mining on surface runoff in the Jamunia basin of Jharkhand, India. The derivatives of digital elevation model (DEM) have been used to simulate the changes in topography of the study area and the runoff has been calculated using Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) hydrological model.

In this study, two most common biological waste to energy conversion techniques have been analysed and compared on the basis of methane generation and energy recovery potential. The biogas generation potential has been estimated using anaerobic co-digestion experiment. The main substrate used for this study was food waste, while cow dung and anaerobic digester sludge were used as co-digestion substrates.

E-wastes being potential sources of numerous valuable metals are promoted to undergo recycling and recovery under the umbrella of urban mining and circular economy. Thus, the present study provides a critical review of the technological details of different metal recycling processes, pre-treatment methods, and the advancements made in these techniques. Critical evaluation of different metal recovery techniques has also been presented based on the available life cycle assessment (LCA), techno-economic, and industrial-scale studies.

In the present work, a study has been made over the prime stock indices of some fiscally prominent countries impacted by COVID-19. The countries are separated in two ways: (1) considering gross total number of infected cases-here seven mostly impacted countries with certain global economic influence are selected; (2) considering the concentration of the infected cases-here six major impacted countries with considerable influence are selected. This sort of categorization is itself a novel strategy which is capable of including some less populated, but severely impacted countries of economic importance.

Forests play a vital role in maintaining the global carbon balance. However, globally, forest ecosystems are increasingly threatened by climate change and deforestation in recent years. Monitoring forests, specifically forest biomass is essential for tracking changes in carbon stocks and the global carbon cycle.

Occurrence of arsenic in the groundwater has become a cause for concern in many countries. The presence of As(III) species in the groundwater had been one of the biggest challenges for the water workers especially in the southeast Asian countries. Nano based adsorption techniques are gaining attention among researchers for the removal of arsenic ions.

This study proposes a unique way of preparation of biocoagulant from Moringa oleifera defatted seed press cake. The press cake used in this study is a waste material produced as a by-product during cold press oil making from Moring oleifera seeds. The prepared Moringa oleifera seed defatted press cake based biocoagulant was found more effective than presently used metallic and polymer-based coagulants and flocculants for removal of fine particles of colloidal size from the effluent generated in the process of coal beneficiation.

Purpose: Our study was aimed to understand the importance of LIMD1-VHL-HIF1α pathway in development of bladder carcinoma (BlCa) in association with arsenic prevalence.

Methods: At first, the mRNA expression pattern of the genes of this pathway (LIMD1, VHL and HIF1α) was checked in GEO datasets and in our samples. Next, genetic and epigenetic profiling of LIMD1 and VHL was done in our sample pool, validated in T24 BlCa cell line.

A series of pH-responsive random copolymers comprised of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and tert-butyl carbamate (Boc)-protected phenylalanine methacryloyloxyethyl ester (Boc-Phe-EMA) were synthesized via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization in N,N'-dimethylformamide (DMF) at 70 °C. The synthesized copolymers were comprehensively characterized using a combination of techniques, including H NMR, FT-IR spectroscopy and size exclusion chromatography (SEC). Reactivity of each monomers towards controlled radical polymerization was evaluated by determining the reactivity ratios by virtue of extended Kelen-Tüdös method at high conversions revealed the higher reactivity of non-modified HEMA (r =1.

The activation of PIK3CA in bladder carcinoma (BlCa) with its recurrent mutations in exon 9 and 20 were well reported. But the association of arsenic on the activation of the pathway is not well elucidated. Therefore, we aimed to analyse the effect of arsenic on the genetic (copy number variation/mutation) and expression profiles of PIK3CA in primary BlCa samples.
