Characterization of Fungal Foams from Edible Mushrooms Using Different Agricultural Wastes as Substrates for Packaging Material.

Agricultural wastes and leaves, which are classified as lignocellulosic biomass, have been used as substrates in the production of fungal foams due to the significant growth of the mushroom industry in recent years. Foam derived from fungi can be utilized in a variety of industrial applications, including the production of packaging materials. Degradation of Diazo Congo Red Dye by Using Synthesized Poly-Ferric-Silicate-Sulphate through Co-Polymerization Process.

The ability of poly-ferric-silicate-sulphate (PFSS) synthesized via a co-polymerization process has been applied for the removal of diazo Congo red dye. A novel degradation pathway of diazo Congo red dye by using PFSS is proposed based on LC-MS analysis. Assessment of skeletal age in multiple epiphyseal dysplasia.

Background: Determining the skeletal age in patients with multiple epiphyseal dysplasia (MED) is essential for predicting the adult height and guiding the timing of limb lengthening, epiphysiodesis, and other surgical procedures. In the present study, we examined the patterns of skeletal age delay using 3 different methods, the Greulich-Pyle (GP) atlas method, the Tanner-Whitehouse 3 (TW3) method using radius-ulna-short bones (RUS) scoring system, and the TW3 method using the carpal bone maturity scoring system.

Methods: Left hand radiographs from 23 patients (age range, 3 to 14 y) with MED were examined to determine the skeletal age.

Predicting spatial data with RBF networks.

Spatial prediction needs to account for spatial information, which makes conventional radial basis function (RBF) networks inappropriate, for they assume independent and identical distribution. In this paper, we fuse spatial information at different layers of RBF. Experiments show fusion at hidden layer gives the best result and suggest that the optimal value is around one for the coefficient, which is used in the linear combination at the output layer.
