Cannabis (marijuana) is a leafy plant that has medical, recreational, and other uses. Cannabis is socially accepted and widely used throughout the United States. Though cannabis use is increasingly gaining popularity, studies detail the deleterious effects of chronic cannabis smoking on mental health, as well as the immunosuppressive properties of cannabinoids.

Methods: Retrospective review of all patients included in the large Spanish multicentre registry for GCA (ARTESER) with at least two years of follow-up. SDFR was defined as the absence of typical signs, symptoms, or other features of active GCA for ≥12 months after discontinuation of treatment.
Mixed epithelial and stromal tumor (MEST) is very rare neoplasm of the kidney, commonly affecting women at menopausal age. MEST is usually considered a benign tumor with low risk of local recurrence or distance metastases. Our case presents a case of a 66 years old male patient with a complex cystic lesion of the left kidney incidentally diagnosed on urinary tract computerized scan (CT) performed for other reasons.

To our knowledge, the prognostic potential of the De Ritis ratio and NLR to predict the survival in nonmetastatic glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to explore the prognostic power of the De Ritis ratio and NLR in patients with nonmetastatic glioblastoma multiforme.

The results are presented and compared with those from a different study. The studied soil samples had <100 ppm of uranium, which shows they are composed of overloads and garbage rather than mineable stocks.

Reg was administered as a third-line treatment to 84 patients who had undergone 2 rounds of chemotherapy and targeted therapy and subsequently experienced progression. Treatment was initiated with a daily dose of 80 or 120 mg, based on the patient's ability to tolerate the medication, which was increased to 160 mg/day.

We also investigated the role of prognostic markers PD-1 and PD-L1, and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Local or locally advanced stage ampullary adenocarcinoma patients who had undergone pancreaticoduodenectomy at the time of diagnosis were included.

The current study uses ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) and SSNTDs (solid-state nuclear track detectors) to measure uranium concentrations in 12 surface soil samples from selected locations in Um Qasr in the Southern Basrah governorate. In the ICP-MS technique, uranium concentrations ranged from 0.6 to 2.

Methods: Twenty patients (11 females and 9 males) participated in this study; they were free of any systemic or local condition and randomly assembled into two groups: continuous wave (CW) and pulsed groups, in contact modes. The diode laser was of 940 nm wavelength and 1-2 W irradiation power for the two modes in all cases.
Objective: The Hemoglobin, Albumin, Lymphocyte, and Platelet (HALP) Score and the Geriatric Nutrition Risk Index (GNRI) are used as prognostic factors in different types of cancers. In this study we analyzed the prognostic value of the HALP Score and the GNRI calculated prior to first-line treatment in patients diagnosed with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (mNSCLC).
Materials And Methods: mNSCLC patients were retrospectively evaluated from January 2016 to December 2019.

Aim: Sarcopenia is a progressive and generalized syndrome that can be linked to many causes such as cancers, and is caused by a quantitative and qualitative disorder (loss of muscle strength and/or physical performance) of skeletal muscle mass. Although sarcopenia has some hypothetical explanation in clinical practice, the mechanisms underlying this condition have not been clearly differentiated in patients with cancer. We aimed to investigate the relationship between irisin, FGF21 and CRP in detecting sarcopenia in colorectal cancer patients.

Methods: Seven hundred and sixty-one patients who were either treated or followed up at our oncology clinic between April 2020 and May 2020 were included. Patients were assessed with the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).
Accumulating studies consistently show that methylphenidate (MPD), the first line drug for treating Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), is abused by patients to whom the drug is prescribed. Like other psychostimulants, only low doses of MPD improve cognitive performance while higher doses impair it. Preventing the use of high doses of MPD is important for retaining its therapeutic efficacy.

Direct acting antivirals (DAAs) radically treated HCV and were suggested to ameliorate fibrosis. Silymarin (a natural herbal remedy) was proposed to further decrease hepatic inflammation and fibrosis.

Aim Of The Study: To compare the utility and efficacy of different MHE diagnostic modalities.
Material And Methods: This case-control study was conducted on hepatitis C virus (HCV)-related compensated cirrhotic patients.
Methylphenidate (MPD), a psychostimulant, is a prescription medicine for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Previously we have shown that moderate doses of MPD enhanced learning and memory while higher doses impaired it. To understand neurochemical mechanisms and receptors involved in memory enhancing and impairing effects of MPD, the present study concerns the effects of these doses of MPD on serotonin, 5-HT1A, GABA, and NMDA receptor mRNA expression in the prefrontal cortex (PFC).

Repurposing antiviral treatments might prove the fastest way to identify effective therapy. Background: , a plant consumed for its nutritional and medicinal values, exhibits hypoglycaemic effect. However, the metabolic fate of the glucose following TO-induced insulin secretion and consequent hypoglycaemia is not clear.
Objective: This study determined the effect of ethyl acetate and n-hexane fractions of TO leaf extracts on some biochemical parameters in the glucose metabolic pathway to explain the possible fate of blood glucose following TO-induced hypoglycaemia.
Omeprazole (OM) is one of the most prescribed drugs worldwide for the treatment of hyperacidity and gastric reflux. However, concerns regarding its safety have emerged recently, and the drug is reported to enhance the risk for anxiety and cognitive deficits, particularly in elderly patients. The present study investigated these adverse effects, if any, in adult male rats.

A comprehensive molecular classification was published in 2014 within The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to guide clinical approaches and treatment strategies. This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic importance of the classification using immunohistochemistry (IHC) and chromogenic in situ hybridization (CISH) to identify potential surrogate markers of molecular changes in gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinomas. A total of 52 GEJ adenocarcinomas were divided into five groups using IHC with MLH-1, E-cadherin, p53 and CISH with EBER: 1) microsatellite unstable (MSI: negative with MLH-1), 2) genomically stable tumors (GS: positive with p53), 3) chromosomally unstable tumors (CUN: negative with e-cadherin), 4) EBV+ tumors (EBV+: positive with EBER) and 5) unclassifiable (G-NOS: MLH-1 and e-cadherin positive with p53 and negative with EBER).
