Background: Current predictive models based on biomarkers reflective of different pathways of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) pathogenesis constitute a useful tool for predicting death risk among HFrEF patients. The purpose of the study was to develop a new predictive model for post-discharge mortality risk among HFrEF patients, based on a combination of clinical patients' characteristics, N-terminal pro-B-type Natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and oxidative stress markers as a potentially valuable tool for routine clinical practice.
Methods: 116 patients with stable HFrEF were recruited in a prospective single-center study.
Background: This study was designed to evaluate the care of hypertensive patients in daily clinical practice in public and private centers in all Tunisian regions.
Objective: This study will provide us an overview of hypertension (HTN) management in Tunisia and the degree of adherence of practitioners to international recommendations.
Methods: This is a national observational cross-sectional multicenter study that will include patients older than 18 years with HTN for a duration of 4 weeks, managed in the public sector from primary and secondary care centers as well as patients managed in the private sector.
Common cardiovascular toxicities of sunitinib mainly include hypertension, QT prolongation, left ventricular dysfunction (LVD) and less frequently, congestive heart failure (CHF). Here, we report the case of a 67-year-old woman who developed heart failure after 24 months of sunitinib. Our case highlights the importance of strict and regular cardiovascular monitoring during sunitinib.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the in-hospital and 1-year clinical outcomes of patients treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Tunisia.
Background: There has been increasing evidence and support for the use of digital technology in the cognitive health field. Despite the growing use of innovative digital technology to assess cognitive function, such technology remains scarce in Arabic countries, particularly in Tunisia.
Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of a digitally delivered cognitive assessment battery in differentiating varying degrees of cognitive function in older Tunisian adults.
The coronary artery disease (CAD) is a chronic inflammatory disease involving genetic as well as environmental factors. Recent evidence suggests that the oral microbiome has a significant role in triggering atherosclerosis. The present study assessed the oral microbiome composition variation between coronary patients and healthy subjects in order to identify a potential pathogenic signature associated with CAD.

We report a case of anterolateral papillary muscle rupture resulting in severe mitral regurgitation due to IE in a young man without previous heart disease. The patient underwent urgent mitral valve replacement.

We hypothesized that Sulodexide, a purified glycosaminoglycan mixture with a beneficial endothelial effect in arterial and venous peripheral diseases, may be effective in a subset of patients with long COVID-19.
Approach And Results: We conducted a multicenter prospective quasi-experimental study.
Background: The coronary artery with an interarterial course CAIAC is the most threatening coronary anomaly, especially if it concerns the left coronary. Percutaneous coronary intervention PCI is scarcely described given its low prevalence and lack of long-term outcome data. Therefore, we assessed through this case series the feasibility and safety of PCI in this population.

Lasting effects and long-term sequelae could persist after the infection and may be due to persistent endothelial dysfunction. Our study focused on the evaluation of endothelial quality index (EQI) by finger thermal monitoring with E4 diagnosis Polymath in a large cohort of long COVID-19 patients to determine whether long-covid 19 symptoms are associated with endothelial dysfunction.

The current review aims to summarize the most recent data on the epidemiology, aetiology, risk factors and management of heart failure, comparing countries in North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. There is a paucity of data on heart failure epidemiology, aetiology and management, and on the sociodemographic characteristics of African patients with heart failure.

Myocardial infarction is very rare in children. It can have different etiologies such as thromboembolism caused by nephrotic syndrome (NS). We report the case of a 15 year old boy with NS, diagnosed at the age of 7 year, admitted for prolonged chest pain.

Methods: the study population consisted of 30 chronic HD patients. Echocardiography and Doppler studies were performed before and after HD.
Acute myocarditis represents a challenging diagnosis as there is no pathognomonic clinical presentation. It is rare to see heart block as the first-and-only presentation of infectious myocarditis. We report the case of a young healthy patient who presented with syncope secondary to a complete heart block.

Despite this, indices of systolic function, assessed by standard and Doppler echocardiography, are within the normal range. The aim of this study was to highlight the long-term changes in myocardial function following coronary reimplantation using Doppler and speckle-tracking imaging (STI) echocardiography.

Coronary arteries were normal on coronary angiography; troponins were very high, echocardiography revealed a preserved global systolic function but an alteration of the longitudinal strain in the inferolateral wall. Cardiac MRI confirmed the diagnosis of acute myocarditis.

The endovascular treatment is the first-line revascularization technique in chronic mesenteric ischaemia. We report a case of reperfusion haemorrhage complicating endovascular repair of severe stenosis of the superior mesenteric and coeliac arteries' anatomic variant following abdominal radiation therapy. The haemorrhage resolved spontaneously after medical management, with successful outcome.

However, it is associated with a risk of treatment-induced cardiotoxicity. The aims of this study were to determine the frequency of trastuzumab-induced cardiotoxicity (TIC) in Tunisian patients, to study the effects of trastuzumab on cardiac biomarkers and echocardiographic parameters using the speckle tracking technique and to identify risk factors of occurrence of TIC.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the charts of patients with histopathologically verified OPTC (group 1) and HCC (group 2), during a 17-year period. All patients underwent total thyroidectomy and received RAI adjuvant therapy.

"Tako-tsubo" cardiomyopathy, also known as "broken heart syndrome," is one of the rarest types of stress-induced cardiomyopathy. It frequently mimics acute coronary syndrome, characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction, electrocardiographic changes, and release of myocardial enzymes. After treatment, the patients are cured in most cases without sequelae.

Coronary subclavian steal syndrome is an uncommon cause of ischemia recurrence after coronary artery bypass grafting. Endovascular treatment of subclavian artery stenosis or occlusion is increasingly common and appears to offer a safe and effective alternative to surgical revascularization. We report a case of recurrent angina after coronary artery bypass grafting for critical subclavian artery stenosis.
