This study evaluated the knowledge and attitudes of Saudi dental practitioners towards silver diamine fluoride (SDF) in Riyadh public hospitals, using a survey of 278 dental professionals.
While the average knowledge score of SDF among participants was 3.1, over half of the respondents recognized its potential to treat cavitated lesions, displaying a generally positive attitude towards its use, especially for patients with special needs.
Main barriers to SDF utilization included concerns about black discoloration, and while many practitioners had limited experience applying SDF, a significant portion anticipated increased use in the future.
