Genetic Testing Among Breast Cancer Patients in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia: Single-Center Experience.

Background: Genetic testing for persons with a heightened likelihood of harboring a germline mutation permits early identification and appropriate management. This study aimed to identify the proportion of breast cancer (BC) patients who were offered genetic testing and the prevalence of BRCA mutations among them. Additionally, we assessed the demographic and clinical features of BC patients in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia.

Factors affecting primary health-care physicians' emergency-related practice; Eastern Province, KSA.

Background: Being the first in-line care providers, primary health-care (PHC) physicians may encounter all forms of emergencies, ranging from minor complaints to life-threatening events. This wide variation of cases challenges the physicians to be competent in emergency medicine. Informative literature describing and assessing the factors affecting PHC physicians' emergency medical services (EMS)-related practice is deficient (nationally and internationally).

Preparedness of Dammam primary health care centers to deal with emergency cases.

Objectives: The objective of the study was to assess the availability of human and nonhuman resources for emergency medical services (EMSs) at the primary health care (PHC) level.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study with mixed research methods (quantitative and qualitative) was carried out in governmental PHC centers in Dammam, Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, between September 2014 and January 2015. Using systematic random sampling technique, 13 out of 26 PHC centers were included in the study.
