An initial experience of computed tomography-guided trans superior vena caval biopsy: a novel approach for precarious mediastinal lesions.

Purpose: As interventional radiologists, we encounter precarious deep-seated mediastinal lesions in our day-to-day practice. The conventional technique of percutaneous transthoracic biopsy of these lesions carries significant intrinsic complications. Endovascular approaches for such lesions under fluoroscopic guidance have been described in previous literature but with significant technical constraints.

An observational comparison of distal radial and traditional radial approaches for coronary angiography.

Background: Several studies have recently reported regarding feasibility and safety of distal transradial access (d-TRA) in the anatomical snuff-box (ASB); however, literature comparing it with the conventional TRA at the wrist (w-TRA) is sparse. This study compares the technical efficiency and safety of ASB and wrist approaches for TRA for coronary angiography (CAG) and evaluates the radial artery (RA) anatomy at these sites.

Methods: Two hundred consecutive patients undergoing CAG via w-TRA or d-TRA (100 in each group) were investigated.

Magnetic resonance imaging brain findings in a case of aquaporin-4 antibody-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, presenting with intractable vomiting and hiccups.

Neuromyelitisoptica (NMO) and multiple sclerosis (MS) were once considered to be differing manifestation of same auto immune disease, NMO predominantly involving the optic nerve and cord. Now with discovery of NMO antibody the concept has changed and a spectrum of disorders with lesions in brain has been identified. Occasionally, brain may be the first or the only site of involvement in these disorders hence it is essential to be aware of this spectrum.

High-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of ovary presenting as peritonitis.

Primary ovarian lymphoma is rare, with ovary more commonly involved secondarily in generalized disease. Primary ovarian lymphoma presents as mass in the ovary with chronic symptoms; an acute presentation has not been described previously. A 75-year-old female presented with acute abdomen and features of peritonism.

Pancreatico-pleural and bronchial fistulae and associated pseudocysts: case series.

Context: Pancreatico-pleural fistula is rare complication of chronic or acute pancreatitis. Previous studies have reported imaging features and various management options of this condition including conservative/medical management, endoscopic treatments and surgery.This article reviews the myriad of imaging appearances of this condition in multimodality imaging and different strategies for the successful management in a short case series.
