Astroviruses (AstV) are known suspects of enteric disease in humans and livestock. Recently, AstV have been linked to encephalitis in immunocompromised patients and other animals, such as cattle, minks, and swine. In our study, we also identified AstV in the respiratory samples of calves with signs of bronchopneumonia, suggesting that their tropism could be even broader.

Constrictive pericarditis (CP) is a curable cause of diastolic heart failure with prior cardiac surgery being a recognizable etiology. We report a patient who developed CP one year following heart transplantation. Several clinical and imaging related factors may lead to diagnostic delays in similar patients, including the mistaken belief that transplanted hearts are devoid of pericardium and thus do not develop constriction.

Video-assisted reflection: improving OSCE feedback.

Background: Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) are commonly used to provide feedback to students on their performance in formative examinations. However, students are often unable to act independently on the feedback they receive. This study explored how the use of video-assisted reflection in OSCEs can enhance students' ability to reflect and engage in sustainable feedback.

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection Post Partum.

A previously healthy 30-year-old woman presented with intensive anterior myocardial infarction at day 6 post partum. Coronary angiogram demonstrated a proximal left anterior descending coronary artery dissection with an intimal flap starting at the ostial segment and extending to the mid segment separating a large false lumen from a narrow true lumen. Percutaneous coronary intervention was successfully performed using a drug-eluting stent with good angiographic result.

Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) is widespread in cattle and wild ruminant populations throughout the world. The virus causes neonatal calf diarrhea and winter dysentery in adult cattle, as well as upper and lower respiratory tract infection in young cattle. We isolated and deep sequenced whole genomes of BCoV from calves with respiratory distress in the south-west of France and conducted a comparative genome analysis using globally collected BCoV sequences to provide insights into the genomic characteristics, evolutionary origins, and global diversity of BCoV.

Influenza D virus has been identified in America, Europe, and Asia. We detected influenza D virus antibodies in cattle and small ruminants from North (Morocco) and West (Togo and Benin) Africa. Dromedary camels in Kenya harbored influenza C or D virus antibodies, indicating a potential new host for these viruses.
