Oncogene-induced senescence (OIS) is a form of cellular senescence triggered by oncogenic signaling and, potentially, by infection with oncogenic viruses. The role of senescence, along with its associated secretory phenotype, in the development of cervical cancer remains unclear. Additionally, the expression of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) has not yet been explored in cervical premalignant lesions infected by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

The virus possesses a high degree of mutagenic potential, contributing to significant antigenic diversity, which complicates immune responses and poses challenges for vaccine development and disease management. This study was conducted in Jordan from 2022 to 2023 to epidemiologically determine the prevalence and molecular characteristics of RSV.

Changes in the neurotransmitters are indications for several diseases. Several sensors were reported for monitoring dopamine (DA), but the simple and accurate DA detection in biological samples still faces many challenges. The research proposal aims to develop an optical sensor for detecting neurotransmitters based on luminescence emission spectra in different biological samples.

However, one area in need of further investigation is cost and clinical comparisons following robotic eTEP with IPOM.
Methods: A retrospective matched cohort study was conducted of patients with midline ventral hernias undergoing robotic eTEP or IPOM at a single academic institution from November 2019-August 2023.
The release of harmful compounds, particularly dangerous metal ions, into the environment has drawn deep concern from the scientific community. Therefore, it has become common in research to evaluate and quantify the harmful concentrations in the presence of these metal ions in several real samples (food, water, and biological samples). To increase sensitivity and lessen the impact of the matrix, sample pretreatment is a helpful strategy to implement before analysis.

Inorganic scale formation is a common issue in multi-stage flash (MSF) desalination plants, significantly impacting operational efficiency. To address this, acid cleaning is frequently employed, but it can lead to severe corrosion of alloy components if not properly controlled with corrosion inhibitors. This study investigates the effectiveness of toluene-2,4-diisocyanate-4-(1H-imidazole-ly) aniline (TDIA) as a corrosion inhibitor for 304L stainless steel in a simulated acid cleaning solution (1M HCl and 3.

This cross-sectional study investigated the relationship between NSAIDs use, caffeinated drink consumption, and the prevalence of self-reported GI symptoms in a Jordanian subpopulation. An online survey was administered to 400 Jordanian individuals aged 18-65 years.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) represent a relatively large class of small-molecule inhibitors that compete with ATP for the catalytic binding site of tyrosine kinase proteins. While TKIs have demonstrated effectiveness in the treatment of multiple malignancies, including chronic myelogenous leukemia, gastrointestinal tumors, non-small cell lung cancers, and HER2-overexpressing breast cancers, as is almost always the case with anti-neoplastic agents, the development of resistance often imposes a limit on drug efficacy. One common survival response utilized by tumor cells to ensure their survival in response to different stressors, including anti-neoplastic drugs, is that of autophagy.

This study screened and risk-stratified the likelihood of true penicillin allergy among children labeled with penicillin allergy in Jordan.
Methods: A web-based survey, completed by parents, assessed history, type, and severity of penicillin allergic reactions, including age at diagnosis, symptoms, time to the reaction, reaction's course and resolution, and received medical evaluation/testing.
A thiol-functionalized MOF-808 was produced and used to remove mercury by post-synthetic modification using 6-mercaponicotinic acid (6mna). Parent MOF-808 was impregnated for varied periods in the 6mna solution to create modified MOF-808 materials, known as MOF-808-6mna-x, where x refers to the impregnation time. Diffraction and several spectroscopic techniques were employed to quantify and confirm the coordination of 6mna into MOF-808 framework.

We aim to study the clinical and radiological outcome of patients with coexistent dAVF and CVST based on different treatment modalities and to examine various other parameters in such patients. A search strategy was performed on the following search engines: PubMed, Wiley, Microsoft Academia, and Google Scholar.

Subsequently, accepting the hypothesis that TIS is escapable should encourage serious reassessments of the fundamental roles of senescence in cancer treatment. The potential for escape from TIS undermines the well-established tumor suppressor function of senescence, proposes it as a mechanism of tumor dormancy leading to disease recurrence and invites for further investigation of its unfavorable contribution to cancer therapy outcomes.
