Aims Of Study: The aim of the study was to establish the long term efficacy of a perioperative antibiotic protocol combined with antibacterial mouthwashes in preventing osteoradionecrosis (ORN).

Materials And Methods: Irradiated head and neck cancer patients reporting for dental extractions were prospectively enrolled to the study between January 2002 and December 2009. Selection criteria for the patients included the presence of nonrestorable tooth/teeth in the field of radiation, latency period of 6 months since completion of radiotherapy, radiation dosages >60 Gy, and availability for follow-up.

Aim: The aim of this paper was to report a case of orthognathic surgery successfully done in a patient with multiple sclerosis.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, progressive inflammatory disorder of the central nervous system affecting young adults, characterized by lymphocytic infiltration of the brain and spinal cord leading to demyelination and focal axonal damage. Clinically, MS patients present with reversible neurological dysfunction in the early stages, which progresses to irreversible neurological disability and deficit.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare, proliferative disorder in which the accumulation of pathologic Langerhans cells leads to local tissue infiltration and destruction. In this article, a review of LCH is presented and a case of a single LCH lesion affecting the mandible of healthy infant is discussed. The history, radiological appearance, histopathology and treatment options are discussed.
