Background: In a global effort to assess expert perspectives on the use of recombinant gonadotropins, recombinant human luteinizing hormone (r-hLH) and recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (r-hFSH), a consensus meeting was held in Dubai. The key aim was to address three critical questions: What are the factors that influence follicle response to gonadotropins? Which categories of patients are most likely to benefit from LH supplementation? And what are the optimal management strategies for these patients?

Methods: A panel of thirty-six experts reviewed and refined the initial statements and references proposed by the Scientific Coordinator. Consensus was defined as agreement or disagreement by more than two-thirds (66%) of the panel members for each statement.

Case Report: An Extremely Rare Case of Epitheloid Type Leiomyoma.

Uterine leiomyomas are a frequent finding in women of reproductive age. However, rare, unusual growth patterns exist, such as atypical, cellular, mitotically active, myxoid, and epithelioid leiomyomas, and present a major concern as they mimic highly malignant uterine tumors such as uterine leiomyosarcomas. An example of such cases is the epithelial type leiomyoma which is the subject of our report in a 35-year-old female.

This review aims to map the evidence available for OTC medications, herbal medicines and dietary supplements for depression, anxiety and insomnia in older adults.

In-situ spectroscopic probe of the intrinsic structure feature of single-atom center in electrochemical CO/CO reduction to methanol.

While exploring the process of CO/CO electroreduction (CORR) is of great significance to achieve carbon recycling, deciphering reaction mechanisms so as to further design catalytic systems able to overcome sluggish kinetics remains challenging. In this work, a model single-Co-atom catalyst with well-defined coordination structure is developed and employed as a platform to unravel the underlying reaction mechanism of CORR. The as-prepared single-Co-atom catalyst exhibits a maximum methanol Faradaic efficiency as high as 65% at 30 mA/cm in a membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer, while on the contrary, the reduction pathway of CO to methanol is strongly decreased in CORR.

Hypothesis: Many applications of liquid foams use them to fill the porosity of various granular media. How is the liquid distributed in such foam-filled systems, in which the geometry of the bubble assembly can be strongly constrained by pore confinement?

Experiments: We study how the liquid is distributed in a grain packing filled with liquid foam, as a function of both liquid content and bubble-to-grain size ratio. Moreover, Surface Evolver simulations are carried out at the scale of a single bubble confined into a tetrahedral pore.

The synthesis of the first mesogenic donor-acceptor polyoxometalate (POM)-based hybrid is herein described. The structural and electronic properties of the hybrid compound were evaluated through combination of small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering, optical microscopy, electrochemistry and photoluminescence. In the solid state, the compound behaves as a birefringent solid, displaying a lamellar organization in which double-layers of POMs and bis(thiophene)thienothiophene organic donors alternate regularly.

Copper Reactivity Can Be Tuned to Catalyze the Stereoselective Synthesis of 2-Deoxyglycosides from Glycals.

We demonstrate that tuning the reactivity of Cu by the choice of oxidation state and counterion leads to the activation of both "armed" and "disarmed" type glycals toward direct glycosylation leading to the α-stereoselective synthesis of deoxyglycosides in good to excellent yields. Mechanistic studies show that Cu is essential for effective catalysis and stereocontrol and that the reaction proceeds through dual activation of both the enol ether as well as the OH nucleophile.

The effect of religious background on the attitude towards sex selection.

Objectives: Surveys of the general population regarding sex selection using pre-implantation genetic diagnosis are limited and were mainly conducted in the United States and Northern Europe. In those Western societies, surveys have shown that people's interest in using sex selection techniques is encouraged by the desire for a sexually balanced family. It is important to determine attitudes to sex selection in a wider range of countries especially that cultural differences exist among countries.

No association between the presence of periodontal disease and poor IVF outcomes: a pilot study.

Periodontal disease can lead to bacteremia with release of cytokines, affecting implantation in women trying to conceive through in vitro fertilization (IVF). A potential association between maternal periodontal disease and poor IVF outcomes has been described. The aim of the study is to assess whether pre-existing periodontal disease has any effect on IVF parameters.
