The diagnosis is usually established by echocardiography, or, less frequently, by left ventriculography. Cardiac magnetic resonance and electrocardiography-gated multi-detector computed tomography are evolving noninvasive modalities to image cardiac structures, and have the utility to detect noncompacted myocardium.
