Human perception systems are highly refined, relying on an adaptive, plastic, and event-driven network of sensory neurons. Drawing inspiration from Nature, neuromorphic perception systems hold tremendous potential for efficient multisensory signal processing in the physical world; however, the development of an efficient artificial neuron with a widely calibratable spiking range and reduced footprint remains challenging. Here, we report an efficient organic electrochemical neuron (OECN) with reduced footprint (<37 mm) based on high-performance vertical OECT (vOECT) complementary circuitry enabled by an advanced n-type polymer for balanced p-/n-type vOECT performance.

Unlabelled: The optimization of hydration temperature and duration were determined in six and non- paddy cultivars varying in grain size, shape, and amylose content based on kinetic parameters and effect of hydration temperature on physical, milling, textural and color attributes. Based on higher R, lower Chi square and RMSE values, Peleg model fitted more suitably compared to Singh and Kulshrestha model. Hydration process significantly altered geometric, gravimetric and mechanical properties as evident by regression analysis.

Residue behaviour and dietary risk assessment of cyantraniliprole, flubendiamide and acetamiprid in broccoli were carried out using the QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe) technique coupled with LC-MS/MS. The QuEChERS technique was validated on parameters such as linearity, accuracy, precision, robustness, matrix effects, limit of quantification (LOQ), specificity, retention time and ion ratio as per SANTE (Directorate General for Health and Food Safety) guidelines to attest to the specificity, accuracy and precision of the analytical method in estimating insecticide residues in and on broccoli heads and cropped soil. A new approach to control the n-doping reaction of organic semiconductors is reported using surface-functionalized gold nanoparticles (f-AuNPs) with alkylthiols acting as the catalyst only upon mild thermal activation. To demonstrate the versatility of this methodology, the reaction of the n-type dopant precursor N-DMBI-H with several molecular and polymeric semiconductors at different temperatures with/without f-AuNPs, vis-à-vis the unfunctionalized catalyst AuNPs, was investigated by spectroscopic, morphological, charge transport, and kinetic measurements as well as, computationally, the thermodynamic of catalyst activation. The combined experimental and theoretical data demonstrate that while f-AuNPs is inactive at room temperature both in solution and in the solid state, catalyst activation occurs rapidly at mild temperatures (~70 °C) and the doping reaction completes in few seconds affording large electrical conductivities (~10-140 S cm).

Background: The tumor microenvironment of solid tumors governs the differentiation of otherwise non-immunosuppressive macrophages and gamma delta (γδ) T cells into strong immunosuppressors while promoting suppressive abilities of known immunosuppressors such as myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) upon infiltration into the tumor beds.

Recent Findings: In epithelial malignancies, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), precursor monocytic MDSCs (M-MDSCs), and gamma delta (γδ) T cells often acquire strong immunosuppressive abilities that dampen spontaneous immune responses by tumor-infiltrating T cells and B lymphocytes against cancer. Both M-MDSCs and γδ T cells have been associated with worse prognosis for multiple epithelial cancers.

Unlabelled: Instant rice is well-suited for ready-to-use applications as low-moisture, light-weight military ration and emergency food for our Armed Forces, offering longer shelf life with rapid rehydration characteristics. Present investigation demonstrated the effect of different salt pretreatment during soaking as precooking operation on the physico-chemical, cooking and rehydration kinetics of instant rice. Application of salt pretreatment reduced bulk density and damaged grain percentage, while enhanced the porosity, volume expansion percent, weight gain percentage, and rehydration characteristics.

This study explores how individuals who have experienced COVID-19 share their stories on YouTube, focusing on the nature of information disclosure, public engagement, and emotional impact pertaining to consumer health. Using a dataset of 186 YouTube videos, we used text mining and video analytics techniques to analyze textual transcripts and visual frames to identify themes, emotions, and their relationship with viewer engagement metrics. Findings reveal eight key themes: infection origins, symptoms, treatment, mental well-being, isolation, prevention, government directives, and vaccination.

Fahr syndrome is a rare neurologic disorder, usually affecting young and middle-aged adults, that can present with symptoms ranging from extrapyramidal to neuropsychiatric abnormalities. Pseudohypoparathyroidism (PHP), characterized by parathyroid hormone (PTH)-resistance or PTH-unresponsiveness at target organs, is associated with Fahr syndrome and typically presents with hypocalcemia. The following case presents a 39-year-old-woman with PHP complicated by symptomatic hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, and movement disturbances, who had computed tomography imaging showing basal ganglia calcifications consistent with Fahr syndrome.
