Aim: To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Japanese version of the Person-Centered Care Assessment Tool (P-CAT-J) in a Japanese long-term care setting.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional survey using self-administered questionnaires distributed among the nurses or care staff of 2000 special nursing homes randomly selected nationwide using stratified random sampling according to each prefecture's ratio of numbers of facilities. The internal consistency of the tool was calculated using Cronbach's α and construct validity was assessed using confirmatory factor analysis.
