A revision of the genus Arenopontia Kunz, 1937 (Harpacticoida, Arenopontiidae) is presented based on morphological examination of a wide range of material. The genus, as redefined herein, encompasses A. subterranea Kunz, 1937 (type species by monotypy), A.

Methods: The findings of 8250 patients who applied to our outpatient clinic and underwent thyroid ultrasonography(US) between 2008 and 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. We included a total of 296 patients with 296 macrocalcified nodules (macrocalcification group) and an age- and sex matched group of 300 patients (control group) with the cytopathologic and/or histopathologic data of fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of thyroid nodules without calcification.
This article elaborates on the utilization of social media for practices of interaction in the city during the COVID-19 pandemic and discusses its potential in providing for the wellbeing of urban communities. During the early periods of the pandemic when preventative measures were taken intensively to decrease contamination, communities lacked physical relationships with and within cities. Interactions realized in physical spaces in normal conditions were compensated with practices in social media.

Purpose: To investigate the relationship between cell content and histopathological features of parathyroid lesions and 18F-FCH uptake intensity on PET/CT images.
Methods: Patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (age > 18) who were referred to 18F-FCH PET/CT were involved. All patients underwent parathyroidectomy.
Background/aim: Calcitonin level in fine-needle aspirate washout fluid (Ct-FNA) was extensively studied for thyroid nodules and lymph nodes (LN). However, the data was scarce for neck recurrences/metastases of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC). Thus, the diagnostic accuracy of Ct-FNA and cytology in the detection of neck LN metastases of recurrent MTC cases were assessed.

Modified Menghini type semi-automatic aspiration biopsy needles provide small tissue fragments (STFs), as well as cellular smears, and immunohistochemical and molecular studies can be performed using the STFs.
Aims: We aimed to evaluate the contribution of STFs and ancillary techniques to pre-operative diagnosis of salivary gland lesions.
The influence of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (CLT) on clinicopathological features and behavior of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) is still debated. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the prognosis of DTC on the presence of CLT. A total of 649 total thyroidectomized patients (379 female, 270 male) with DTC, who had follow-up data for at least 36 months were included.

This study aimed to assess the relationship of tumor diameters (the largest tumor diameter [LTD] and the mean tumor diameter [MTD]) with survival in thymoma patients undergoing surgical resection in a single center.
Methods: The study included 127 thymoma patients (age, 49.

Pulmonary sclerosing pneumocytoma (PSP) is a rare tumor and the imaging appearance is usually a well-circumscribed nodule. Herein we present the clinicopathological features of a 25-year-old female patient with a 4 cm mass in the left upper lobe. She had undergone lobectomy with lymph node dissection with an incorrect intraoperative frozen section diagnosis of adenocarcinoma and diagnosed as a PSP with lymph node metastasis on permanent sections.

Material And Methods: A cross-sectional study was held including 115 patients with unexplained RPL who were referred to a tertiary center between December 2018 and December 2019. In the study, MetS was classified according to The National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) Adult Treatment Panel III (ATP III) criteria on the basis of metabolic risk factors.
We compared wound dressing removal at 24 hours 48 hours following low-risk caesarean deliveries. This multicentre, randomised, controlled study included patients 18-44 years of age with low-risk term, singleton pregnancies. The randomisation was done weekly.

Background: This study aims to investigate the frequency, distribution, and morphological/immunohistochemical features of epidermal growth factor receptor mutations and to examine the possible relationship between the material type and technical success of mutation analysis in Turkish population with non-small cell lung cancer.
Methods: Between September 2012 and December 2015, a total of 499 consecutive, treatment-naïve patients (437 males, 163 females; mean age 61 years; range, 30 to 84 years) with primary or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer who underwent epidermal growth factor receptor mutation testing using Sanger sequencing method were retrospectively analyzed. Archival records and hematoxylin-eosine and immunohistochemically stained sections were re-examined.
Intrapericardial goiter cases are only a few in the literature. We present a 53-year-old woman who was operated for 8-cm anterior mediastinal mass located completely intrapericardial and histopathological examination revealed an ectopic goiter. It may be difficult to distinguish between mediastinal masses within or outside the pericardium.

The fetuin A molecule, of which serum level increases during pregnancy, is an inhibitor of insulin receptor tyrosine kinase and it is associated with insulin resistance. The aim of this study is to research the relationship of -843A>T (rs2248690) and 767C>G (rs4918) polymorphisms in the alpha-2-Heremans Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG) gene which is responsible for the synthesis of fetuin A and its association with (GDM).

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the charts of a total of 302 cycles performed in 273 patients attending Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Centre from August 2013 to August 2016. During the study period, embryo transfer with acupuncture (Acupuncture group, 46 cases) and without acupuncture (Control group, 42 cases) were applied.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the parameters affecting the treatment success of conservative surgery in cases with placental invasion anomaly.
Methods: Archive files and digital image records of 67 patients with placental invasion anomaly were studied. The patients were divided into two groups, a conservative surgery group and a cesarean hysterectomy group.
Objective: To investigate relationships between spontaneous abortion and complete blood count inflammation markers and their role in predicting spontaneous abortion.
Methods: This study was conducted at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology between January 2012 and January 2017. A total of 570 participants, 325 diagnosed with spontaneous abortion and 245 control patients who underwent timely births were included into our study.
Objective: Habitual abortion (HA) is defined at least three consecutive pregnancy losses. One of the etiologic causes is parental chromosomal anomalies. In this study, we aimed to that investigate the effect of parental chromosomal abnormalities on HA.

Background: This study aims to identify the prognostic factors for stage I lung adenocarcinoma and to evaluate the surgical management of subsolid nodules.
Methods: The study included 133 patients (90 males, 43 females; mean age 64.9 years; range, 29 to 82 years) who had undergone operation in our clinic for stage I lung adenocarcinoma between January 2007 and December 2015.
Objective: The aim of this study was to compare serum fetuin-A levels and oxidative stress markers, as indicators of insulin resistance, in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and in healthy controls.
Methods: This prospective case-control study included 46 patients with PCOS and 48 age- and body mass index-matched control women. Levels of serum hormones, fetuin-A, and oxidative stress markers were measured in blood samples taken during the early follicular period from each participant.
BACKGROUND Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH), or secondary hypogonadism, results from reduced secretion of gonadotropins, including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), by the pituitary gland, resulting in lack of production of sex steroids. The aim of this study was to evaluate self-reported sexual function in sexually active women with and without HH using two evaluation methods, the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). MATERIAL AND METHODS The study recruited 88 women who attended an outpatient in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinic in Turkey for primary infertility, between August 2013 and August 2016.
