Article Synopsis
  • The study examines the prevalence of ocular symptoms in COVID-19 patients at a tertiary healthcare center, noting that 7.8% of patients presented with eye-related issues.
  • Most affected individuals were male, and common symptoms included hyperaemia, eye pain, and epiphora, with no significant differences related to gender or existing health conditions.
  • The findings suggest ocular manifestations in this specific population are less common than previously reported in other studies, highlighting a gap in literature from the Middle Eastern region regarding this issue.

We demonstrate a fiber-based programmable arbitrary picosecond optical pulse shaper using binary phase-only linear filtering. The reconfigurable filtering operation is implemented in the time domain using an electro-optical phase modulator driven by a high-speed bit pattern generator. The required binary phase code is designed using a genetic algorithm.
