Background: Development of alloantibodies against the foreign red blood cell (RBC) (alloimmunization) is a well-known complication in thalassemia patients when performing multiple transfusions. The study was conducted to know the prevalence of alloimmunization in thalassemia patients, in the Caspian Sea coastline.
