This virtual study was designed to evaluate the stress-deformation of a metal fixed partial dentures (FPDs) pontic under different loads using two different connectors. The STL file was generated for a RPD of two implant-supported restorations. The Co-Cr metal substructure was designed with two types of connector design.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to optimize the temperatures of gypsum molds used for pressing PEEK and evaluate its mechanical properties, including tensile strength and flexural behavior, compared to PMMA.
  • A total of 210 PEEK specimens were tested under various mold temperatures, with results indicating PEEK-pressed at 100°C had the highest impact strength, while PEEK-milled exhibited greater tensile strength.
  • The findings suggest that PEEK has superior mechanical properties over PMMA, indicating its potential as a preferred material for future denture construction.

Background: Although bonding to denture teeth after surface treatment with chemical agents is desirable, there is little information on the use of Visible Light Cure composite resin (VLC) as bonding denture materials.

Objectives: To determine the effect of various surface treatments on shear bond strength between Visible Light Cure composite resin and the acrylic denture teeth interface.

Methods: Forty cylindrical sticks of acrylic resin with denture teeth mounted atop were prepared.
