Background: The radial artery is commonly selected for arterial puncture and cannulation, but radial nerve palsy may occur. To minimize possible damage to the nerve, needle puncture should be made within the margin of safety (between the wrist to the distal end of the radial artery and the radial nerve running in parallel). In adults, the margin of safety for radial artery puncture is approximately 6.

For this purpose, twelve Holstein calves were randomly assigned into three treatments (n = 4/treatment); a control without coated calcium butyrate, T1, and T2 treatments supplemented with coated calcium butyrate 3 g and 6 g per day/head, respectively. Body weight was measured at days 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, and 56 of the trial, and the average daily weight gain and feed conversion ratio were determined.

This study aimed to assess the prevalence of diarrheagenic pathogens, in both public and personal domain water sources and examine the reliance on the WHO drinking water risk assessment guidelines. This study was conducted in a low-income urban community in Dhaka, Bangladesh between September 2014 and October 2015.

This systematic review aims to study the current status of the etiological agents responsible for DFU, their frequency in some of the most occurring Asian countries, and their antibiotic resistance pattern based on available studies.
Methods: Here, the literature survey was conducted on all the DFU studies with the records of etiological agents and conventional therapeutic treatment published until March 2021 using Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database.
Purpose: Insertion of a gastric tube orally may be more difficult than its insertion nasally, and thus, any aid to facilitate its insertion may be useful. Gastric tube insertion guide (Fuji Medical Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) has recently become commercially available. We felt that this device might be useful in facilitating oral insertion of a gastric tube, but there has been no formal study assessing its efficacy.

Methods: Sixty anesthetized patients were randomly allocated to three groups, and we attempted to insert a nasogastric tube with a blind technique (Group B), with the lateral neck pressure (Group L), or with the tube guide (Group G). If the insertion failed in Group B or L, its insertion was attempted with the tube guide.
In this study, we investigated the genomic variability of alpha-VOC of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan, in context of the global population of this variant. A set of 461 whole-genome sequences of Pakistani samples of alpha-variant, retrieved from GISAID, were aligned in MAFFT and used as an input to the Coronapp web-application. Phylogenetic tree was constructed through maximum-likelihood method by downloading the 100 whole-genome sequences of alpha-variant for each of the 12 countries having the largest number of Pakistani diasporas.

Examining this relationship, 51 adults with PWS were administered the Pervasive Developmental Disorders Autism Society Japan Rating Scale (PARS), Short Sensory Profile (SSP-J), Food-Related Problem Questionnaire (FRPQ), and Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC-J). Based on SSP-J z-scores, participants were classified into three severity groups.

However, no report is available regarding the relationship between psychiatric illness and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in patients with PWS. Therefore, we evaluated a behavioral assessment to address the lack of data on the association between psychiatric behavior and T2DM.

Forty-six percent (57/125, CI 95%: 41-58) of the isolates in the point-of-drinking water and 53% (55/103, CI 95%: 45-64) of the isolates in the source water were diarrheagenic . Among the pathotypes, enterotoxigenic (ETEC) was the most common, 81% (46/57) of ETEC was found in the point-of-drinking water and 87% (48/55) was found in the communal source water.

Objectives: Previous reports indicate that growth hormone (GH) treatment for Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) improves bone mineral density (BMD) only when initiated at a young age and not when initiated in adulthood. However, there are no data on BMD during long-term GH treatment of Japanese children and adolescents with PWS. Thus, this study aimed to investigate BMD changes among patients with PWS, who were undergoing GH treatment from childhood to adolescence.

One possible risk associated with cannulation is an injury to the superficial branch of the radial nerve. The radial nerve divides to the superficial branch and the deep branch at the top of the forearm, and the superficial branch lies behind the brachioradialis muscle close to the lateral side of the radial artery and terminates the lateral side of the radial artery about 7 cm proximal to the wrist.

The main objective of present study was to investigate molecular responses of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The 48 bacterial strains, which were previously isolated and identified were subjected to disc diffusion and MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) determination, followed by investigating the production of the three beta-lactamases (ESBLs (Extended-spectrum Beta-lactamases), MBLs (Metallo Beta-lactamases), AmpCs) and exploring prevalence of the two antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs); and .

This study aimed to clarify the state of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis and the effects of growth hormone (GH) treatment on thyroid function in pediatric patients with PWS. We retrospectively evaluated thyroid function in 51 patients with PWS before GH treatment using a thyroid-releasing hormone (TRH) stimulation test (29 males and 22 females; median age, 22 months).

BRI1 perceives plant hormone brassinosteroids (BRs) through its extracellular domain that constitutes of LRRs interrupted by a 70 amino acid residue island domain (ID), which activates the kinase domain (KD) in its intracellular domain to trigger BR response. Thus, the KD and the ID of BRI1 are highly conserved and greatly contribute to BR functions.

Therefore the present project was designed with the objective to screen the best drought tolerant hybrid of Vigna radiata. Genetic variations for drought tolerance among these hybrids were assessed by simple and efficient technique.

We studied whether stroke volume variation (SVV) is useful as an indicator of transfusion management Methods : We studied 44 patients undergoing lapa- roscopic colectomy. Patients were randomly allocated to two groups, and the volume of transfusion was decided with the SVV as an indicator in one group (SVV group, n=22) or with conventional indicators, such as blood pressure, heart rate, volume of urine in the other group (control group, n=22) Results : In the SVV group, total transfusion volume and total blood loss during operation were significantly decreased, and the length of hospital stay was signifi- cantly shorter, compared with the control group.
