Background And Aims: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the most common but uncontrolled health issues of diabetic patients that needs more therapeutic considerations. This systematic review aims to study the current status of the etiological agents responsible for DFU, their frequency in some of the most occurring Asian countries, and their antibiotic resistance pattern based on available studies.

Methods: Here, the literature survey was conducted on all the DFU studies with the records of etiological agents and conventional therapeutic treatment published until March 2021 using Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database.

Efficacy of an aid (gastric tube insertion guide) for oral insertion of a gastric tube: a randomized controlled trial.

Purpose: Insertion of a gastric tube orally may be more difficult than its insertion nasally, and thus, any aid to facilitate its insertion may be useful. Gastric tube insertion guide (Fuji Medical Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) has recently become commercially available. We felt that this device might be useful in facilitating oral insertion of a gastric tube, but there has been no formal study assessing its efficacy.

Purpose: We studied whether a newly available gastric tube insertion guide (Fuji Medical, Tokyo, Japan) was effective in insertion of a nasogastric tube.

Methods: Sixty anesthetized patients were randomly allocated to three groups, and we attempted to insert a nasogastric tube with a blind technique (Group B), with the lateral neck pressure (Group L), or with the tube guide (Group G). If the insertion failed in Group B or L, its insertion was attempted with the tube guide.

In this study, we investigated the genomic variability of alpha-VOC of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan, in context of the global population of this variant. A set of 461 whole-genome sequences of Pakistani samples of alpha-variant, retrieved from GISAID, were aligned in MAFFT and used as an input to the Coronapp web-application. Phylogenetic tree was constructed through maximum-likelihood method by downloading the 100 whole-genome sequences of alpha-variant for each of the 12 countries having the largest number of Pakistani diasporas.

Examining this relationship, 51 adults with PWS were administered the Pervasive Developmental Disorders Autism Society Japan Rating Scale (PARS), Short Sensory Profile (SSP-J), Food-Related Problem Questionnaire (FRPQ), and Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC-J). Based on SSP-J z-scores, participants were classified into three severity groups.

Objectives: In recent years, research on behavioral and psychiatric problems of adults with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) has gained attention. Is It Human or Animal? The Origin of Pathogenic in the Drinking Water of a Low-Income Urban Community in Bangladesh.

This study aimed to investigate the origin of diverse pathotypes of , isolated from communal water sources and from the actual drinking water vessel at the point-of-drinking inside households in a low-income urban community in Arichpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh, using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Forty-six percent (57/125, CI 95%: 41-58) of the isolates in the point-of-drinking water and 53% (55/103, CI 95%: 45-64) of the isolates in the source water were diarrheagenic . Among the pathotypes, enterotoxigenic (ETEC) was the most common, 81% (46/57) of ETEC was found in the point-of-drinking water and 87% (48/55) was found in the communal source water.

Objectives: Previous reports indicate that growth hormone (GH) treatment for Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) improves bone mineral density (BMD) only when initiated at a young age and not when initiated in adulthood. However, there are no data on BMD during long-term GH treatment of Japanese children and adolescents with PWS. Thus, this study aimed to investigate BMD changes among patients with PWS, who were undergoing GH treatment from childhood to adolescence.

It is unclear whether hypothyroidism is present in patients with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). This study aimed to clarify the state of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis and the effects of growth hormone (GH) treatment on thyroid function in pediatric patients with PWS. We retrospectively evaluated thyroid function in 51 patients with PWS before GH treatment using a thyroid-releasing hormone (TRH) stimulation test (29 males and 22 females; median age, 22 months).
