Background: Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) plays a pivotal role in hematopoiesis, motility, growth and mobilization of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs). HGF mainly is produced by bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs). MSCs express erythropoietin (EPO) receptor.
