Background: Implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) is becoming increasingly popular for the treatment of visual demands at various distances in patients undergoing phacoemulsification cataract surgery. We aimed to assess the visual performance and rates of photic phenomena, posterior capsule opacification (PCO), and spectacle independence in patients with bilateral implantation of the AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® multifocal IOL model TFNT00 at one and six months postoperatively.
Methods: This prospective interventional cohort study included adult patients who underwent uneventful phacoemulsification cataract surgery with bilateral implantation of AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® IOL.
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different surface modification methods on the surface roughness, contact angle, and bond strength of composite-veneer materials of polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK). Fifty-five specimens (n = 11) with a size of 7 × 7 × 2 mm were cut out from PEEK discs. The specimens were divided into five groups with different surface treatments: no treatment (NO) (control group), sulfuric acid (SA), plasma (P), femtosecond laser (FS), and Nd-YAG laser (NY).

We aimed to determine the changes in the causes for revision TKAs before and after 2011 (The year that the proposed a new definition for periprosthetic joint infection) and the changes in the demographics of patients who underwent revision TKAs during the same time intervals.
Methods: Patients who underwent revision TKAs between 2004 and 2017 were evaluated.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of an algorithm that was created to prevent coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) transmission during the management of children with burns in a tertiary pediatric burn center. Children admitted to the burn center between May 2020 and November 2020 were prospectively evaluated for cause, burn depth, TBSA, length of stay, symptoms suggesting COVID-19, suspicious contact history, history of travel abroad, and COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results. Patients were divided into two groups: unsuspected (group 1) and suspected (group 2), depending on any history of suspicious contact, travel abroad, and/or presence of symptoms.

In this study, it has been revealed that amorphous silicate precursors, which play a role in the nucleation processes of zeolitic frameworks, can be regularly fragmented in mass spectroscopy due to the hydroxyl functional groups in their molecular structures. In this way, by using the mass spectra acquired from LDI-TOF MS, the systematic evolution stages of a common 1D precursor converting to the 3D unit cells of MFI and MOR zeolite structures observed in the same reaction medium were constructed through a nucleation mechanism at the molecular level for the first time.

We also aimed to compare quality of life scores of children and their parents. Nonobese children aged between 5 and 10 years old who were diagnosed as PFF according to physical and radiological examinations were included in this cross-sectional comparative study.

The study was conducted with 30 five-year-old children (17 girls and 13 boys) attending state and private preschools in the academic year 2018/2019. The data collection tools used in the study were the Test for Creative Thinking - Drawing Production TCT-DP, Children's Thoughts on Time Questionnaire (CTTQ) and Children's Epistemological Views Questionnaire (CEVQ).

New-onset diabetes mellitus is an important comorbidity associated with allograft failure. In this study, our aim was to investigate the correlation between hypomagnesemia and preva-lence of posttransplant diabetes mellitus.

However, data regarding their mechanical properties and performance after 120 hours of storage are lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to test the elastic recovery, strain in compression, and tear strength properties of 5 commercially available EPIHIMs, immediately after preparation and after 120 hours of storage under specific storage conditions.
Introduction: No significant regression has been reported in revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) rates despite substantial progress in implant technologies and surgical techniques. It is critical to investigate how patient demographics, THA indications, surgical techniques, types of implants, and other factors influence the frequency of early and late revision surgery. The main purpose of the present study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics and 10-year survival rates of revision hip arthroplasties among revision time groups.

Many factors such as ceramic thickness, condensation techniques, firing temperature, and numbers can affect the final color of restoration. The purpose of this study was to investigate the color changes in alumina-based ceramic system according to ceramic shade and thickness during the multiple firings.

Methods: Clinical data of 46 patients surgically treated using either chitosan-glycerol phosphate/blood implant (25 patients, Group 1) or hyaluronic acid-based cell-free scaffold (21 patients, Group 2) in combination with microfracture were retrospectively evaluated. All lesions were Outerbridge grade III or IV with a mean lesion size of 3.
Purpose: To investigate the effect of different surface treatments on the surface roughness (Ra), wettability, and shear bond strength of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) to composite resin.
Materials And Methods: One hundred ninety eight PEEK specimens were divided into six groups (n = 33). Specimen surfaces were treated with the following surface treatment modalities: silicoating (CoJet), acetone treatment, acid etching (H SO ), airborne particle abrasion (Al O ), laser irradiation (Yb:PL laser), and the nontreated surface serving as the control.
Background: Early hospital readmission after surgically treated hip fracture is a common entity, often involving an adverse event and causing strains on an already overburdened healthcare system. The main purposes of the present study were to determine the 30-day readmission rate, analyze the predictive factors for early hospital readmissions, and assess 1-year mortality following surgical treatment of hip fracture in elderly patients.
