Objectives: The prevalence of fungal secondary infections among COVID-19 patients and efficacy of antifungal therapy used in such patients is still unknown. Hence, we conducted this study to find the prevalence of fungal secondary infections among COVID-19 patients and patient outcomes in terms of recovery or all-cause mortality following antifungal therapy (AFT) in such patients.
Methods: We performed a comprehensive literature search in PubMed®, Scopus®, Web of Sciences™, The Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrial.
Background: The use of computers and other Visual Display Terminal (VDT) screens is increasing in Nepal. However, there is a paucity of evidence on the prevalence of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) and other occupational health concerns among employees working in front of VDT screens in the Nepalese population.
Objectives: This study aims to estimate the prevalence of CVS, musculoskeletal and work-related stress among VDT screen users in the office, as well as their understanding and usage of preventive measures.
Silicon has been implicated as a factor affecting the degree of resistance to abiotic stresses in several plant species. However, the role of silicon in soybean () under water-limiting conditions is not yet fully understood. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of silicon application on the vegetative growth of two soybean cultivars (Asgrow 5332 and Progeny 5333) grown under water-limiting conditions.

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) offers high selectivity and sensitivity for ionic compounds, thereby enhancing biomarker discovery. Recent advances in CE-MS include small, chip-based CE systems coupled with nanoelectrospray ionization (nanoESI) to provide rapid, high-resolution analysis of biological specimens.

Methods: This study included 28 patients who were diagnosed with obstructing colorectal cancer (OCRC) either preoperatively or intraoperatively over a period of 5 years.
Results: Most were in the younger age group with mean age of 49.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a common female endocrinopathy associated with both reproductive and metabolic disorders, has an unclear etiology and unsatisfactory management methods. Carboxypeptidase X, M14 family member 1 (CPXM1) is a protein involved in follicular atresia, insulin production, and adipose tissue production, though its role in PCOS is not fully understood. We used a 60% high-fat diet (HFD) plus dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)-induced PCOS mouse model to determine the role of CPXM1 in abnormal glucose metabolism and ovarian dysfunction in PCOS.

However, research has shown that asthma is not associated with increased severity and death, thus making the consequences of asthma in COVID-19 unclear.
Methods: We searched the electronic databases PubMed, WHO COVID-19 database, and Taylor and Francis Online for studies that compared the medical outcomes of COVID-19 between patients with and without asthma, from the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 in December 2019 to the 3 of September 2021, excluded duplicates, reviews, editorials, and case reports, and screened the titles, abstracts, and full texts.
Introduction: Valvular heart disease continues to cause significant morbidity and mortality around the world, with rheumatic heart disease accounting for the bulk of cases in developing nations. The aim of this study is to find out the prevalence of rheumatic heart disease among patients with valvular heart disease admitted to the in-patient department of a tertiary care centre.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from December, 2018 to December, 2020 at a tertiary care centre after receiving ethical approval from the Institutional Review [Reference number: 395 (6-11) e2 077/078].
Introduction: Essential thrombocythemia, a myeloproliferative condition with an increased number of circulating platelets, is a rare hematological malignancy. The aim of the study is to find out the prevalence of essential thrombocythemia among patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms presenting in haematology unit of a tertiary care centre.
Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study at a tertiary care centre from September, 2020 to September, 2021 (Reference number: 48 (6-11) E2077/076).
Vaccination saves lives and can be an effective strategy for preventing the spread of the COVID-19, but negative attitudes towards vaccines lead to vaccine hesitancy. This study aimed to explore the factors influencing the uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Nepali community in the United Kingdom (UK). This qualitative study included in-depth interviews with 20 people from Nepal living in the UK.

Metal nanoparticles bio fabricated with phytoconstituents and microbial extracts have gained significant interest for the treatment of various solid tumors including hepatocellular carcinoma. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an aggressive cancer with a very poor prognosis.

Case Presentation: Here, we report a case of 82-years old male with ST-segment elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) that was developed as a complication of COVID-19.
Discussion: COVID-19 is now known to cause cardiovascular issues such as myocardial damage, heart failure, arrhythmia, and venous thromboembolism.
The dismally low survival rate of ovarian cancer patients diagnosed with high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) emphasizes the lack of effective screening strategies. One major obstacle is the limited knowledge of the underlying mechanisms of HGSC pathogenesis at very early stages. Here, we present the first 10-month time-resolved serum metabolic profile of a triple mutant (TKO) HGSC mouse model, along with the spatial lipidome profile of its entire reproductive system.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus had a significant impact on public health, social issues, and financial issues. Thousands of individuals are infected on a regular basis in India, which is one of the populations most seriously impacted by the pandemic.

Design: RNA sequencing was performed to investigate the mRNA expression profiles in the ovarian tissues of a DHEA plus HFD-induced PCOS mouse model. Six samples were divided into two groups (control and PCOS), with three biological replicates in each group. This was followed by hierarchical clustering, gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analyses.
Introduction: Cooccurrence of hypertension and depression/anxiety increases the chance of cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. Therefore, this study is aimed at assessing the prevalence of anxiety and depression and their association with hypertension among hypertensive adults in a tertiary care hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted using a semistructured self-administered questionnaire based on Hamilton Anxiety and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale.
The Rationale: The surgery-first approach provides immediate improvement in facial aesthetics in orthognathic cases with a shorter total treatment period.
Patient Concerns: A 21-year-old male came with the chief complaint of protrusive lower front teeth and a large lower jaw. His main concern was aesthetics.
Introduction: Acute pesticide poisoning is a significant global public health issue that contributes to one of the leading causes of emergency department visits. There is no national data on the incidence of acute pesticide poisoning or the pesticides that cause deaths. The purpose of this study is to find the prevalence of pesticide poisoning among patients who presented to the emergency department with acute poisoning.

However, aberrant production of IgE is known to be associated with various life-threatening allergic diseases. Superoxide dismutase 3 (SOD3) has been found to suppress IgE in various allergic diseases such as allergic conjunctivitis, ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma, and dust mite-induced atopic dermatitis-like skin inflammation.
