The Effect of Nanoparticles Against Streptococcus mutans in the Orthodontic Primer Used for Aligner Attachment: An In Vitro Study.

Objective This study investigates the antimicrobial properties of silver (1%) and chitosan (1%) nanoparticles against Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) when added to an orthodontic primer used for aligner attachments. While aligner treatments are becoming increasingly popular for their aesthetics and convenience, their attachments can create retention sites for bacteria, potentially leading to white spot lesions (WSLs).

Comparison of Friction Produced at Backet-Wire Interface in Monocrystalline Ceramic Brackets of 8 Different Brands: An Study.

Introduction: The esthetic during the various orthodontic treatments has led to the invention of the brackets. When different ceramic brackets and archwires are used, the different frictional forces may result in the different outputs. Hence, in the present study, we evaluated and compared the frictional resistance between eight standard monocrystalline ceramic bracket models and each of the archwires of four different alloys.

Objective: The objective of the study is to determine the oral health knowledge, attitude, and practices among the health-care workers (HCWs).

Materials And Methods: The present questionnaire-based survey among 473 HCW comprising of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and interns was carried out to know the oral health knowledge, attitude, and practices among different HCW. Responses were recorded and data were assessed through descriptive statistics and by applying analysis of variance, Chi-square, and z-tests.

Comparison of Opal self-ligating brackets with manually ligating brackets.

This study was conducted with aim to evaluate the efficiency of the newly introduced Opal self-ligating brackets (SLB). The chairside time saved, appliance efficiency, bracket bond failures, breakages and bracket staining in the Opal SLBs were compared with the conventional standard metal manually ligating brackets (MLBs) of MBT system. Seven patients were compared in each group.
