This study investigates the paraxial approximation of the M-fractional paraxial wave equation with Kerr law nonlinearity. The paraxial wave equation is most important to describe the propagation of waves under the paraxial approximation. This approximation assumes that the wavefronts are nearly parallel to the axis of propagation, allowing for simplifications that make the equation particularly useful in studying beam-like structures such as laser beams and optical solitons.

Current malaria diagnostics are invasive, lack sensitivity, and rapid tests are plagued by deletions in target antigens. Here we introduce the Cytophone, an innovative photoacoustic flow cytometer platform with high-pulse-rate lasers and a focused ultrasound transducer array to noninvasively detect and identify malaria-infected red blood cells (iRBCs) using specific wave shapes, widths, and time delays generated from the absorbance of laser energy by hemozoin, a universal biomarker of malaria infection. In a population of Cameroonian adults with uncomplicated malaria, we assess our device for safety in a cross-sectional cohort (n = 10) and conduct a performance assessment in a longitudinal cohort (n = 20) followed for 30 ± 7 days after clearance of parasitemia.

In this article, compensation algorithms for zero padding are suggested to enhance the performance of deep convolutional neural networks. By considering the characteristics of convolving filters, the proposed methods efficiently compensate convolutional output errors due to zero padded inputs in a convolutional neural network. Primarily the algorithms are developed for patch based SRResNet for Single Image Super Resolution and the performance comparison is carried out using the SRResNet model but due to generalized nature of the padding algorithms its efficacy is tested in U-Net for Lung CT Image Segmentation.

A complex fuzzy distance measure (CFDMs) plays a significant role in applications involving complex or high-dimensional data where traditional distance measures may not adequately capture the nuances of the data relationships. The significance of CFDMs lies in their ability to handle uncertainty, imprecision, and complexity in various domains. Numerous researchers introduced different concepts of CFDMs, yet these CFDMs fails to convey any information regarding the hesitancy degree associated with an element.

Large differences in projected future annual precipitation increases in North America exists across 27 CMIP6 models under four emission scenarios. These differences partly arise from weak representations of land-atmosphere interactions. Here we demonstrate an emergent constraint relationship between annual growth rates of future precipitation and growth rates of historical temperature.

Drought-flood abrupt alternation (DFAA) refers to the rapid transformation between droughts and floods, posing serious threats to ecological security, food production, and human safety. Previous studies have insufficiently investigated DFAA events at large regional scales using high-resolution observations and model simulations. In this study, the standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index was used to construct the DFAA magnitude index, which considers the asymmetric effects of drought and flood alternations.
