Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases and Google Scholar were searched without date restriction until June 2023 by using relevant keywords.

Background: Previous studies showed a high conversion rate and failure of restrictive procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy (SG), adjustable gastric banding (AGB), gastric plication (GP), and vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG) in a long-term follow-up. The current study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a revisional one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) for weight loss and treatment of obesity-related problems after primary metabolic and bariatric restrictive procedures.

Methods: A retrospective study on prospectively collected data was conducted on a sample of 151 patients who experienced insufficient weight loss or weight regain after primary restrictive surgeries and underwent OAGB as a revisional procedure.

Uncovering the protective potential of vanillic acid against traumatic brain injury-induced cognitive decline in male rats: Insights into underlying mechanisms.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant contributor to global mortality and disability, and there is still no specific drug available to treat cognitive deficits in survivors. Vanillic acid (VA), a bioactive phenolic compound, has shown protective effects in various models of neurodegeneration; however, its impact on TBI outcomes remains elusive. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the possible role of VA in ameliorating TBI-induced cognitive decline and to reveal the mechanisms involved.

To induce an autism-like model, pregnant rats were injected 500 mg/kg NaVPA (intraperitoneal) on the embryonic day 12.

Methods such as laparoscopic bile duct exploration is impractical in many healthcare facilities, due to the absence of a choledochoscope. This study assesses the feasibility of laparoscopic exploration of the common bile duct using a disposable bronchoscope in these individuals.

Incidence of Electrolyte Imbalances Following Traumatic Rhabdomyolysis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Rhabdomyolysis, a medical condition caused by the destruction of striated muscle fibers, can have many etiologies, with the most common one being traumatic etiologies, that is, crushing injuries, heavy exertion, and being trapped under rubbles, and so forth. Rhabdomyolysis causes many complications, including acute kidney injury and different electrolyte imbalances, which later can cause cardiac dysrhythmia and even death as a result. This systematic review and meta-analysis investigate the incidence of imbalances of four important electrolytes among patients diagnosed with traumatic rhabdomyolysis.

SSTE: Syllable-Specific Temporal Encoding to FORCE-learn audio sequences with an associative memory approach.

The circuitry and pathways in the brains of humans and other species have long inspired researchers and system designers to develop accurate and efficient systems capable of solving real-world problems and responding in real-time. We propose the Syllable-Specific Temporal Encoding (SSTE) to learn vocal sequences in a reservoir of Izhikevich neurons, by forming associations between exclusive input activities and their corresponding syllables in the sequence. Our model converts the audio signals to cochleograms using the CAR-FAC model to simulate a brain-like auditory learning and memorization process.

Evaluation of the effect of surface roughness and modification of implant abutment axial wall on the retention of zirconium oxide copings before and after thermocycling.

Background: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of one-wall elimination of the abutment and also the surface treatment of the abutment on the retention of cement-retained, implant-supported zirconium oxide copings.

Material And Methods: In this experimental study, four straight abutments were connected to four implant analogs (DIO, UF, Busan, Korea) with 35 Ncm torque. They are mounted vertically in resin blocks.

Introduction: The aim of the present prospective observational study was to demonstrate the prevalence and predictive factors of rhabdomyolysis in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients.

Methods: The study was performed on reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)-confirmed COVID-19 patients admitted to the emergency department between March 2020 and March 2021. Peak creatinine phosphokinase (CPK) levels were used to define rhabdomyolysis.

Background: Clarifying the dimensions and characteristics of obstetric telephone triage is important in improving the quality of services in the health system because researchers can evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, care and diagnostic measures in the form of obstetric telephone triage by developing a guideline. Methods: This retrospective study included 360 couples diagnosed with infertility involving PCOS (n=157), unexplained infertility (n=140), and TF infertility (n=63). Sibling oocytes were randomly assigned to undergo ICSI or conventional IVF insemination.

Safety and efficacy of RCP recombinant spike protein covid-19 vaccine compared to Sinopharm BBIBP: A phase III, non-inferiority trial.

Background: We conducted a phase III, non-inferiority trial comparing safety and efficacy of RCP recombinant spike protein Covid-19 vaccine to BBIBP (Sinopharm).

Methods: Adult Iranian population received RCP or BBIBP in a randomized, double blind and an additional non-randomized open labeled trial arms. Eligible participants signed a written informed consent and received two intramuscular injections three weeks apart.

Uric acid in predicting the traumatic rhabdomyolysis induced acute kidney injury; a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the value of uric acid in predicting acute kidney injury caused by traumatic rhabdomyolysis.

Methods: The search was conducted in MEDLINE, Scopus, Embase and Web of Science until November 1, 2023. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the articles were included by two independent researchers.
