Background/aim: Measures to control adverse events (AEs) in the use of oral multi-kinase inhibitors (OMI) are important for the continuation of treatment.
Patients And Methods: In this study, oncology pharmacists monitored symptoms of patients receiving outpatient therapy with OMIs in real-time using a smartphone Web app for the early detection/early treatment of AEs. This feasibility study evaluated the effects of using the app in 10 patients compared with data from 10 patients who did not use the app.
We started a registry for cases of immunoglobulin (Ig)G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) in December 2019 to clarify the clinical profile of IgG4-RD. In this study, clinical information from 854 cases registered by February 16, 2024 was analyzed from multiple perspectives. Diagnosis of IgG4-RD was made in 808 cases, comprising 638 definite, 38 probable, and 132 possible.

The tumor exhibits rapid growth, especially when infarct necrosis occurs within the tumor. In the current report, we showed a woman in her 50s who noticed a rapidly growing breast mass and received an excisional biopsy diagnosis of a phyllodes tumor with hemorrhagic infarction.

The robotic hand is based on human object handling characteristics, which significantly reduces the number of fingers and joints required to handle various objects. The robotic hand has right and left planar fingers that can transform their shape to handle various objects.

However, MAGs, as population consensus genomes, often aggregate heterogeneity among species and strains, thereby obfuscating the precise relationships between microbial hosts and mobile genetic elements (MGEs). In contrast, single amplified genomes (SAGs) derived via single-cell genome sequencing can capture individual genomic content, including MGEs.

Here, we demonstrate a method to directly draw nanoscale superconducting β-Sn patterns in the plane of a topological Dirac semimetal (TDS) α-Sn thin film by irradiating a focused ion beam and taking advantage of the heat-driven phase transition of α-Sn into superconducting β-Sn. The β-Sn nanowires embedded in a TDS α-Sn thin film exhibit a large superconducting diode effect (SDE), whose rectification ratio η reaches a maximum of 35% when the magnetic field is applied parallel to the current.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study using the National Database (April 2009-March 2020). The target patients had a first breast cancer diagnosis in April 2010 or later.
Disease-related cells differentiated from patient-derived iPSCs are useful for elucidating the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying these diseases. In this study, four iPSC lines were established from independent patients with sensorineural hearing loss and a mutation in EYA4. These iPSCs showed pluripotency, the capacity to differentiate into three germ layers, and normal karyotypes, suggesting that these lines are useful for the pathological study of sensorineural hearing loss and drug screening for ear disorders.

If such trajectory control can be performed without high-cost sensors, certainly a significant cost reduction in building the robot will be achieved. This paper describes a method of retrieving a file binder by generating a pseudo-curved trajectory for tilting it using a simple system.

Aged mice fed a high-fat diet containing 2% BTS extract for 28 days exhibited a significant reduction in weight gain and accumulation of visceral and subcutaneous fat, which were greater degree of reduction than those of the young mice. When the treatment period was extended to two months, the serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase levels and the accumulation of fat droplets in the hepatocytes decreased.

Methods And Results: Between August 2022 and January 2023, we retrospectively analyzed 110 Japanese patients diagnosed with IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) involving cardiovascular and/or retroperitoneal manifestations, along with 73 non-IgG4-RD patients ("mimickers") identified by experts.
Eribulin is widely used to treat metastatic breast cancer (BC). Higher neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are associated with higher mortality in several cancer types. However, the association between BC prognosis and peripheral immune status remains controversial.

It is evident that the environment, influenced by weather conditions and time of the day, plays a pivotal role in molding children's behaviors, emotions, and interactions. This underscores the significance of the environment as a critical factor in exploring the communication dynamics of children with PIMD/IDs.

Methods: This study included 46 patients who were prescribed with opioid analgesics for advanced recurrent cancer. The primary outcome was psychological barriers assessed using the Japanese version of the Barriers Questionnaire-II (JBQ-II).

Background: Adenomyoepithelioma (AME) of the breast is an uncommon tumor characterized by the proliferation of ductal epithelial and myoepithelial cells with the heterogeneity. Although benign AME is relatively easy to differentiate from breast cancer by core needle biopsy (CNB) alone, a definitive diagnosis is often difficult. The imaging findings of AME are also variable, and there are particularly few reports about radiological features, including contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in AME.

However, this increases structural complexity and the obtained improvement may be small. Humans change the shape of their hands by extending or bending the fingers to apply force to an object through contact with a wide surface or two or more fingers.

APS is broadly categorized as rare monogenic forms, such as autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 1 (APS-1), and a more common polygenic variety, autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 2 (APS-2). Although many autoimmune conditions including autoimmune rheumatic diseases can develop in APS-2, systemic sclerosis or myositis as a complication is quite rare and no treatment strategy has yet been established.

This study assessed the efficacy of fosnetupitant in combination with palonosetron and dexamethasone and identified risk factors for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) for up to 168 h after treatment using pooled data from Japanese studies.
Methods: A pooled analysis of randomized phase II and phase III studies was performed to compare the efficacy of fosnetupitant and fosaprepitant in patients receiving cisplatin-based chemotherapy.
Purpose: The Phase III POTENT trial demonstrated the efficacy of adding S-1 to adjuvant endocrine therapy for estrogen receptor-positive, HER2-negative early breast cancer. We investigated the efficacy of S-1 across different recurrence risk subgroups.
Methods: This was a post-hoc exploratory analysis of the POTENT trial.
