Purpose: To report a complex case of serpiginous-like choroiditis (SLC) in a patient with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-anti-proteinase 3 (PR3)-associated vasculitis with systemic involvement.
Methods: Case report.
Results: A 40-year-old male from a tuberculosis (TB)-endemic region presented with bilateral active SLC lesions.
Introduction: It has been well established that grip strength measurements can be useful as a benchmark for comparing the efficacy of different treatment modalities as well as an aid in the assessment of the progress of disease and rehabilitation. Grip strength has also been shown to be a representative marker for sociodemographic factors.
Methods: Participants were selected from five different regions in a cross-sectional manner from the streets of Trinidad and Tobago, and a Jamar hand dynamometer was used to assess the metrics of hand grip, palmar grip, tip pinch, and key pinch across both hands.
Femoral intertrochanteric fractures can be occult and not visible on plain radiographs, even when there is a high clinical suspicion. This case study reports an occult intertrochanteric fracture that was diagnosed using a bone scan rather than an MRI or CT scan. A 91-year-old woman arrived at the emergency room with a complaint of left hip pain after slipping at home.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. However, there is a lack of comprehensive data from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) regarding factors influencing COPD outcomes, particularly in regions where biomass exposure is prevalent.
Objective: The Factors Affecting Survival in Severe and Very Severe COPD Patients Admitted to Tertiary Centers of India (FAST) study aims to address this gap by evaluating factors impacting survival and exacerbation rates among COPD patients in LMICs like India, with a specific focus on biomass exposure, clinical phenotypes, and nutritional status in patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) are mesenchymal cell tumors that may arise from any site throughout the body. A small percentage of patients with SFT develop non-islet cell tumor-induced hypoglycemia (NICTH), eponymously termed Doege-Potter Syndrome (DPS). DPS is characterized by severe, refractory hypoinsulinemic hypoglycemia.

Materials And Methods: Direct pulp capping (DPC) was performed on 90 teeth from 10 dogs that had been experimentally exposed. The exposed pulps were divided into three groups according to the mixing medium with MTA: Group I: MTA + distilled water (control group), Group II: MTA + hybrid cooperative complex HA (HCC-HA), Group III: MTA + high molecular weight HA (HMW-HA).
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of scaling and root surface debridement (SRP) on salivary bacterial counts and systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients with chronic periodontitis, with a focus on clinical significance.
Methods: An observational trial included 24 chronic periodontitis patients, eleven of them were hypertensive patients. Non-surgical periodontal treatment was administered to all patients, with clinical parameters including gingival index (GI), plaque index (PI), and probing pocket depth (PPD) recorded.
Background: Several studies emerging from developed countries have highlighted a significant number of potentially avoidable emergency department (ED) visits by cancer patients during the end-of-life period. However, there is a paucity of information from developing nations regarding palliative care practices and the utilization of the ED by palliative care patients. Herein, we aim to characterize ED admissions among patients receiving palliative care at our tertiary center in Saudi Arabia.

However, the Arabian world does not have a validated instrument for screening SHS in their population. Therefore, the study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of Arabic-translated SHS (ASHSQ-25) in the Saudi Arabian population.

The main objective is to investigate and compare the chemical effect of using two commercially available hyaluronic acid hydrogels (HA) instead of distilled water for mixing MTA as an accelerant of setting time. Test materials were divided into three groups; Group 1: (control) mixing MTA with distilled water supplied by the manufacturer; Group 2: mixing MTA with a hybrid cooperative complex of high and low molecular weight HA (Profhilo®); Group 3: mixing MTA with High molecular weight / non-cross-linked HA (Jalupro®).

In addition to relying too heavily on fossil fuels, electricity theft is another great issue. The proposed energy management system can simultaneously detect electricity theft and implement demand response tactics by employing time-of-use pricing principles and comparing real electricity consumption with grid data.

Salivary diagnosis is a promising field with numerous clinical applications. Since limited studies have been carried out on how salivary inflammatory cytokines can be determined and how well periodontal disease and hypertension might react to scaling and root planning (SRP).

This is a retrospective study of 402 patients with COVID-19, who were treated between February and October 2021. Radiation dose was estimated using metrics of volume CT dose index (CTDIvol) and size-specific dose estimate (SSDE).

She had previously presented to the general practitioner with a one-week history of vague abdominal pain in the right and left loins. Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the abdomen and magnetic resonance angiography/magnetic resonance venography (MRA/MRV) revealed a 10 cm filling defect in the IVC, with the inferior margin of ≈5.

Objectives: To investigate the clinical features of developmental and/or epileptic encephalopathy with spike-and-wave activation in sleep (D/EE-SWAS), its electrographic characteristics, and etiology and to compare the effects of different treatment strategies on the outcomes using a Saudi Arabian database.
Methods: This multicenter study included children with D/EE-SWAS who were evaluated between 2010 and 2020 at 11 tertiary centers. Data were collected on their baseline clinical features, etiologies, and treatment modalities.
The true burden of COVID-19 in Yemen is underestimated. The healthcare system is dysfunctional and there is a high shortage of health care workers in the country. Testing for SARS-CoV-2 remains limited and official surveillance data is restricted to those who are severe or highly suspected.

Currently, there are limited tools, and an ongoing debate about appropriate tools. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate and generate conclusive evidence about the psychometric properties of available SHS tools.

It is based on the coalition method for optimal energy sharing between smart buildings. Game theory is applied to obtain an optimal allocation of the building's surplus energy on the deficient energy buildings using the Shapley value, which enables the unequal energy distribution based on the energy demand.

Shoulder dislocations may be overlooked if they are the result of systemic injury; if diagnosed >21 days after occurring, they are considered chronic dislocations. We describe the case of a 31-year-old male who presented with an eight-week history of bilateral shoulder pain.
