Article Synopsis
  • Fennel is being studied for its ability to withstand drought, focusing on differences between drought-sensitive and drought-tolerant genotypes.
  • Drought stress led to decreased water and photosynthesis levels in sensitive genotypes, while tolerant ones showed more stability and even increases in certain metabolic enzymes.
  • Key proteins affecting metabolism showed distinct changes between the genotypes, with findings suggesting that cobalamin-independent methionine synthase plays a critical role in the drought tolerance of fennel.
