The health of a watershed is a crucial aspect that involves evaluating ecological, hydrological, and human factors to determine its overall well-being and functionality. Hydrological components are key parts of a watershed. Therefore, the present study aims to assess Watershed Hydrological Health (WHH) using the Pressure-State-Response (PSR) framework and to compare WHH priorities derived from Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approaches in the Gorganroud Watershed, Iran.

The newly developed hybrid nanofluids, MXene/NH2-UiO66 (Zr) (noted as MX/UO66) and MXene/MIL-88B (Fe) (noted as MX/ML88), were synthesized using an in-situ solvothermal method, combining annealed Ti3C2Tx MXenes with water-stable metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). These nanofluids achieved high efficiency at low concentrations, providing both economic and performance benefits.

The specific single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs1946518 (-607C>A) and rs187238 (-137G), that are found in the IL-18 promoter region can potentially impact the expression of the IL-18 gene. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between these two polymorphisms and RA in the Iranian population.

Methods: This observational prospective cohort study involved 1618 propensity score-matched participants (81.5% female) with concurrent MASLD and obesity who underwent SG or OAGB between 2013 and 2023.
Objectives: Laminectomy is one of the most prevalent back surgeries. Considering the importance of controlling and minimizing surgical complications, this study was conducted to determine the effect of Sevoflurane and Propofol on the state of renal complications in patients undergoing laminectomy surgery.
Methods: This clinical trial was conducted in Ilam (Iran).
The water quality indices, health risk, and burden of disease attributable to heavy metals in rural communities of Yazd County, Iran during 2015-2021 were studied. The drinking water quality index (DWQI) based on 27 parameters (including heavy metals) and heavy metal pollution index (HPI) were used for assessing drinking water quality. The health risk and burden of disease from heavy metals in drinking water were estimated in terms of hazard quotient (HQ), hazard index (HI), incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR), and disability-adjusted life year (DALY).

Sulfur mustard (SM) is an established chemical weapon that can result in severe damage to parts of the body. Currently, there are no effective treatments available for SM-caused damage. We aimed to investigate the therapeutic potential of adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (AD-MSCs) and conditioned medium (CM-MSCs) in acute and chronic pulmonary mouse models caused by 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide (CEES), an SM analog.

Wetlands represent a crucial category of aquatic ecosystems that face numerous threats, such as increasing population density, alterations in land-use, climate change, excessive extraction of water resources, and inadequate construction of reservoirs. As a result of these challenges, wetlands cannot perform their essential functions, which include meeting human demands, supporting tourism, mitigating dust storms, and maintaining the biodiversity of flora and fauna. Accordingly, assessing their health and service performance is essential.

According to the recent studies, inflammation, oxidative stress, apoptosis, and mitochondrial dysfunction are determining risk factors in the pathogenesis of CKD. Melatonin as a strong antioxidant is produced in various tissues including the kidneys.

Here, we show that spiking small molecules, including metabolites, lipids, vitamins, and nutrients into plasma can induce diverse protein corona patterns on otherwise identical NPs, significantly enhancing the depth of plasma proteome profiling. The protein coronas on polystyrene NPs when exposed to plasma treated with an array of small molecules allows for the detection of 1793 proteins marking an 8.

The involvement of UCP2 in cancer is complex and context-dependent, suggesting it as a potential therapeutic target. In this study, we aimed to perform a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of UCP2, with a particular focus on gender-related malignancies such as breast (BRCA), prostate (PRAD), ovarian (OV), and testicular tumors (TGCT).

Virotherapy has emerged as a promising cancer treatment strategy, leveraging the ability of viruses to specifically target and replicate in cancerous cells. This study evaluated the oncolytic potential of a combined therapeutic strategy, utilizing Newcastle disease virus (NDV) and Doxorubicin hydrochloride (Dox) both in vitro and in vivo.

To explore any changes from the impact of exposure to cooking-generated aerosols on the human brain due to the absence of food intake during exposure, we divided the study participants into three groups: (A) no food intake for 2 h (2 h-zero calorie intake), (B) non-zero calorie intake, and (C) control group (simulated cooking). The ultrafine particle concentrations increased from 9.
