In this study, we conducted a comparative evaluation of CBCT and MRI in diagnosing TMJ disorders and assessing their association with periodontal health. We recruited a sample of 100 patients presenting with TMJ symptoms and divided them into two groups.

In this study, a polymer nanocomposite is synthesized using magnetic and conducting fillers for enhanced electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. Alfa-ferrite (α-FeO) nanoparticles with minimal multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) as low as 5 weight % in combination with variable concentrations of graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) are used as fillers in low-density polyethylene (LDPE) polymer matrix. Nanofillers and the polymer matrix are characterized by various techniques such as XRD, SEM, color mapping, EDAX, TGA, etc.

The effect of mobile application-based technology use on medication compliance and modification of risk factors in post PTCA cohort of patients.

Mobile application-based technology was used to study medication compliance and influence on cardiovascular lifestyle in ischemic heart disease (IHD) patients who undergo percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The Mobile-app was made available at Google play store; the app was downloaded and instructions to use were thought to patients by the research team during hospitalization in the study group. A total of two hundred patients with ischemic heart disease who underwent PTCA were enrolled into the study.

Acute myocardial infarction in dextrocardia - A diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Can dextrocardia be a risk factor?

Acute myocardial infarction in dextrocardia may present several challenges either in electrocardiographic diagnosis or coronary intervention or both, due to abnormal location of the heart, mirror images o the aorta and its branches, and abnormal coronary origin and orientation. Also, dextrocardia as a risk factor for coronary artery disease is less well established. We report the case of a young patient with dextrocardia and situs inversus without any risk factor who presented with acute extensive anterior wall myocardial infarction diagnosed after lead reversal and who successfully underwent coronary intervention using "double inversion technique".

Long-term results of a sirolimus-eluting stent with biodegradable polymer (RAPSTROM™) in de novo coronary stenoses.

In vivo delamination of coronary guidewire polytetrafluoroethylene layer - A dreaded complication.

Coronary guidewires are coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) layer to decrease resistance and enhance trackability. Delamination and embolization of PTFE material can be detrimental during percutaneous coronary interventions. We report an occurrence of such delamination and discuss the implications and possible mechanism of this dreaded complication.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy precipitated by negative pressure pulmonary oedema following total thyroidectomy.

'Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM)' or 'stress cardiomyopathy' is a reversible cardiomyopathy that is precipitated by intense emotional or physical stress. This syndrome is characterised by symptoms mimicking acute coronary syndrome with transient systolic dysfunction associated with regional wall motion abnormalities, which extend beyond a single coronary vascular bed in the absence of obstructive coronary vascular disease. The presentation of TCM and myocardial infarction is similar with sudden onset of chest pain, breathlessness as well as abnormalities in both the electrocardiogram and cardiac enzymes.

Short term efficacy and safety of low dose tolvaptan in patients with acute decompensated heart failure with hyponatremia: a prospective observational pilot study from a single center in South India.

Background: In acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF), diuretic use, the mainstay therapy for congestion, is associated with electrolyte abnormalities and worsening renal function. Vasopressin mediates fluid retention in heart failure. In contrast to diuretics, the vasopressin antagonist tolvaptan may increase net volume loss in heart failure without adversely affecting electrolytes and renal function.

Juvenile severe mitral stenosis predisposing Eisenmenger syndrome in a case with ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, coarctation of aorta & hypoplastic aortic arch: Report of first case of rare association.

We are reporting the first case of rare association between multiple congenital cardiac malformations with severe rheumatic mitral stenosis which is an acquired structural cardiac disease. A 16 years old female patient presented with progressive dyspnoea & cyanosis for the last one month with past history of recurrent pneumonia since infancy. Physical examination revealed presence of cyanosis, grade I clubbing, radio-radial & radio-femoral delay, loud & single second heart sound, apical long mid diastolic murmur and left parasternal ejection systolic murmur.

Biventricular noncompaction presented with symptomatic complete heart block - Report of a case and review of literature.

Ventricular noncompaction has been recognized as a distinct form of rare cardiomyopathy characterized by numerous, prominent ventricular trabeculations and deep intertrabecular recesses and is caused by a disorder of endomyocardial morphogenesis. Concomitance of either valvular pathologies or complete atrioventricular block with biventricular noncompaction has rarely been reported. Herein, we present a case of 67 years old male presented with syncopal attack and congestive heart failure due to biventricular noncompaction with significant left ventricular dysfunction associated with complete atrioventricular block.

Successful retrieval of a fractured and embolised Judkin's catheter during a coronary angiogram.

We report the successful retrieval of a large broken segment of right Judkin's catheter using a snare catheter by a retrograde approach. A 69-year-old woman presented with an anterior wall myocardial infarction. A coronary angiogram revealed severe stenosis of distal left main coronary artery, ostio-proximal portion of the left anterior descending artery and the ostial left circumflex artery.

Artifacts introduced by ion milling in Al-Li-Cu alloys.

Ion milling is commonly used to prepare specimens for observation under transmission electron microscope (TEM). This technique sometimes introduces artifacts in specimens contributing to misleading interpretation of TEM results as observed in the present investigation of Al-Li-Cu alloys. This type of alloy, in general, contains several kinds of precipitates, namely delta', T1, and theta'.
