Article Synopsis
  • The study examined the effects of Japanese herbal medicines (Hozai) on five unconscious patients with various causes for their condition.
  • Administered Hozai included Hotyu-ekki-to for four patients and Jyuzen-taiho-to for one patient, with a focus on changes in white blood cell counts, lymphocytes, and serum albumin levels before and after treatment.
  • Results indicated that Hozai treatment led to normalized white blood cell counts and increased lymphocyte counts, suggesting potential benefits in enhancing the immune system of unconscious patients and possibly reducing the risk of infections at home.
