Introduction: Complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs) represent a significant clinical challenge due to their association with sepsis, high morbidity and mortality, and an increased risk of recurrence and chronic infection. Effective management requires prompt, targeted interventions.
Areas Covered: This review highlights the importance of early, targeted antibiotic therapy based on local resistance profiles, patient-specific factors, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic considerations.
Introduction: Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is the treatment option for localized prostate cancer. It can lead to side effects like erectile dysfunction (ED) and post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence (PPUI). This study aimed to evaluate association between dyadic adjustment, PPUI and ED.

Our aim is to compare the oncological and functional outcomes of RARP performed using the novel Hugo™ RAS system with those from the daVinci system, the reference standard, at a high-volume robotic center, with an extended follow-up period (one year). : We analyzed the data of 400 patients undergoing RARP ± pelvic lymph node dissection between 2021 and 2023, using propensity score (PS) matching to correct for treatment selection bias.

However, recent studies have revealed its broader role in various physiological processes and disease susceptibility, including cancer. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using databases like MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTechnological advancements have revolutionized surgical methods, with laparoscopic and robotic surgeries offering significant benefits over traditional open procedures. These benefits include reduced intraoperative blood loss, shortened hospital stays, faster recovery, and improved cosmetic outcomes. However, the learning curve for laparoscopic surgery remains a challenge.

Minimal invasive surgical treatment (MISTs) such as Rezūm System are emerging aiming to relieve symptoms. We present results from a single centre prospective study.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Objective: The introduction of the Hugo RAS system represents a recent innovation in robotic surgery. The potential benefits and limitations of this system and its integration into clinical practice in urology have yet to be fully delineated. Our objective was to assess surgical, early oncological, and functional outcomes in studies comparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) performed with the new Hugo RAS system and the well-established da Vinci surgical system.

Although the one-pot sol-gel method leads to high-quality photocatalysts, areas remain for improvement. This study examines the impact of ethanol as a cosolvent in STO synthesis, focusing on optimizing the water-to-ethanol volume ratio.

Traditional 2D cell cultures often fail to capture the complex structural and functional heterogeneity of tumors, limiting the translational relevance of findings. In contrast, 3D culture systems, such as spheroids, provide a more physiologically relevant context by replicating key aspects of the tumor microenvironment.

In pain medicine, it is accepted that appropriate beneficial management aims to propose an individualized treatment plan shared with the patients, as agents, to help them live as autonomously as possible with their pain. However, are patients in chronic pain centers sufficiently autonomous to participate in the therapeutic decisions that concern them? As this question still remains unanswered, a pilot study was set up to that aim.

The objective of this research was to assess a double layered compression stocking VenoTrain® ulcertec on a population with mostly severe pathologies. This prospective, multicenter, interventional type II study was conducted between September 2018 and January 2022.

Aim Of The Study: To evaluate PRADO-IC program in term of healthcare consumption and prognosis in a cohort of patients hospitalized for decompensated HF, using the insight of the national data base SNDS (Système National de Données de Santé).
Although rare, oral manifestations of hypersensitivity reactions in orthodontic patients pose a significant clinical challenge due to their heterogeneous presentations, and can cause discomfort and pain, possibly impacting patients' quality of life and orthodontic treatment duration and outcomes. This comprehensive review aimed to elucidate the oral, perioral, and systemic manifestations of hypersensitivity reactions in orthodontic subjects, focusing on patients with fixed appliances, removable appliances, and clear aligners, and detailing their epidemiology, macroscopic and microscopic features, allergy testing, clinical implications, and specific management strategies. Oral and extra-oral manifestations of (immediate and delayed) hypersensitivity reactions occur rarely and are due to the release of metal and non-metal ions from orthodontic appliances.

The use of complementary and CAM has become increasingly popular in Western nations. People are turning to CAM for a variety of reasons, including managing chronic diseases, relieving symptoms of various conditions, and improving their overall health and well-being.

We herein investigated the role of GLP-1R on T lymphocytes during immune response. Our data showed that a subset of T lymphocytes expresses GLP-1R, which is upregulated during alloimmune response, similarly to PD-1.

This specific urological symptom is often underestimated and usually associated with benign conditions such as urinary infections or poor hydration. Nevertheless, hematuria could lead to severe acute complications or be the first symptom of urological cancers.

Phospholipase A2 hydrolyzes host cell membranes, producing lyso-phospholipids and free fatty acids, including arachidonic acid (AA), which contributes significantly to lung inflammation.
Aim: Follow these changes and their evolution from day 1, day 3 to day 7 in airway aspirates of 89 patients with COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome and examine whether they correlate with the severity of the disease.
