Background: Giant sacral and presacral schwannomas are very rare conditions and their prevalence is estimated to account for only 0.3 to 3.3% of overall schwannomas.

Using biological augmentation in the form of the highly vascular subacromial bursa, was used to improve tendon healing. This work aimed to evaluate the results of arthroscopic guided mini-open transosseous repair with bursal augmentation in the treatment of MRCTs in a five-step approach.

Pregnancy is thought to exaggerate proteostasis, which leads to the accumulation of potentially pathogenic misfolded proteins in the urine, serum, and placenta particularly in women with preeclampsia. The detection of misfolded proteins is made using Congo red stain, which is referred to as congophilia.

Subtalar arthroereisis (AR) is a minimally invasive procedure that corrects FFF by limiting excessive pronation of the subtalar joint. Two main techniques exist: endosinotarsal AR, which involves placing an implant in the sinus tarsi, and exosinotarsal AR, which uses a screw external to the sinus tarsi.

Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the effect of virtual reality (VR) distraction on pain, anxiety, satisfaction and haemodynamics during AVF puncture.
Methods: This randomised controlled trial study was conducted in a Haemodialysis unit at Mansoura University Hospital.
Purpose: This research was designed to determine the long-term outcomes in patients with liver cirrhosis who achieved sustained virological response (SVR) after direct-acting anti-viral drugs (DAAs) based regimens.
Patients And Methods: This study involved 193 patients with HCV-related cirrhosis who had previously completed DAAs regimens and accomplished SVR. Clinical, laboratory, and radiological features at the first and 3rd-year follow-up after the end of treatment were analyzed.
Background: Congenital femoral deficiency (CFD) presents a significant challenge in pediatric orthopaedics, characterized by a spectrum of congenital anomalies ranging from mild femoral shortening to complete absence of the proximal femur and hip joint. This review aims at reviewing the latest concepts of femoral limb lengthening modalities in treating CFD, to explore the efficacy, complications, and long-term outcomes of various surgical techniques.
Methods: A comprehensive search of the literature was performed for clinical studies involving lengthening in patients with proximal focal femoral deficiency (PFFD) in several databases.

Purpose: There is no consensus about the best fixation method for medial malleolar fractures. This study was conducted to compare the clinical and radiological results of positional (fully threaded) screws and lag (partially threaded) screws when used to fix medial malleolar fractures.
Methods: This prospective, randomized clinical trial included 68 patients with closed isolated medial malleolar fractures.
Introduction: Femoral fractures account for ∼1% to 2% of all pediatric bone injuries and are a common occurrence in children. The conservative approach, employing either a single or one-and-a-half spica casts, has been traditionally favored, yielding satisfactory outcomes in select cases. This study aims to compare both procedures regarding functional and radiologic outcomes, complications, and parents' satisfaction.

Background: Jaffe-Campanacci syndrome is a rare syndrome, characterized by multiple non-ossifying fibromas (NOF) and cafe-au-lait patches. The name was coined in 1982 by Mirra after Jaffe who first described the case in 1958. Although it's suggested there is a relation with Neurofibromatosis type 1, there is still no consensus on whether Jaffe-Campanacci syndrome is a subtype or variant of neurofibromatosis-1(NF-1).

We conducted acute respiratory infection surveillance among children to elucidate commonly detected pathogens in school settings and their unique characteristics and epidemiological patterns. The ORegon CHild Absenteeism due to Respiratory Disease Study (ORCHARDS) is a longitudinal, laboratory-supported, school-based, acute respiratory illness (ARI) surveillance study designed to evaluate the utility of cause-specific student absenteeism monitoring for early detection of increased activity of influenza and other respiratory viruses in schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.

We developed and psychometrically tested a method of quantifying fibrosis volume using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The overall aim of this study was to determine if clinical MRI is a reliable tool to measure fibrosis of the pharyngeal musculature in patients with HNC managed with RT and to assess its potential to capture changes in fibrosis over time.

Methods: We used data from two prospective studies in the US primary and urgent care settings that enrolled patients with acute LRTI or influenza-like illness.
The use of computer-based automated approaches and improvements in lung sound recording techniques have made lung sound-based diagnostics even better and devoid of subjectivity errors. Using a computer to evaluate lung sound features more thoroughly with the use of analyzing changes in lung sound behavior, recording measurements, suppressing the presence of noise contaminations, and graphical representations are all made possible by computer-based lung sound analysis. This paper starts with a discussion of the need for this research area, providing an overview of the field and the motivations behind it.

ORIF allows direct anatomical reduction, but at the expense of soft tissues dissection which are associated with recovery. On the other hand, External Fixation allows indirect reduction and causes less soft tissue damage.

Yet, there is yet to be a consensus on the best revisional procedure after unsuccessful LAGB, and studies comparing different revisional procedures after LAGB are still needed.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study that compared the outcomes of one-step revisional Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (rRYGB), one-anastomosis gastric bypass (rOAGB), or laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (rLSG) after LAGB.
Introduction: Bariatric surgery has been the most effective treatment modality for morbid obesity that reduces associated comorbidities and improves quality of life. This study aims at evaluating and comparing the impact of two types of bariatric surgery-laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB)-on renal functions and urinary monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MPC-1) levels in morbidly obese patients 3 months after surgery.
Methods: This is a prospective study of 40 morbidly obese patients who underwent bariatric surgery.
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) contributes significantly to cancer mortalities worldwide. The association between a specific single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) located within the SOCS3 gene as well as the likelihood of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression in individuals with chronic hepatitis C virus (CHC) was found to be significant. We aimed to study SOCS3 gene polymorphisms at rs4969168 and rs4969170and HCC susceptibility in individuals with CHC.

In 2022, the combination of cilgavimab and tixagevimab (Evusheld, AstraZeneca) was approved for COVID-19 preexposure prophylaxis in high-risk groups. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the humoral response and short-term safety of this antibody combination in a group of HD patients.
