Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) targeting EGFR have shown promise, but their efficacy in gliomas is not well established. This study aimed to systematically review and meta-analyze the safety and efficacy of EGFR TKIs in patients with glioma, specifically for primary and recurrent GBM.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of probiotic supplementation on cell adhesion molecules, oxidative stress, and antioxidant parameters in TBI patients. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial included 46 TBI patients who were randomly assigned to receive either a probiotic supplement (n = 23) or a placebo (n = 23) for 14 days.

This systematic review and meta-analysis synthesize the available evidence on the safety and efficacy of the pRESET device.
Methods: This is a systematic review and meta-analysis study conducted based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA).
A majority of Muslim American college students have grown up exclusively within a post-9/11 climate of surveillance and discrimination. Recent events such as the Trump administration's "Muslim ban" and the Israel-Hamas War have led to additional spikes in Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslim Americans. Developmentally, college students are particularly susceptible to the impacts of discrimination because of the identity exploration that occurs during emerging adulthood.

It is a macromolecule and natural biopolymer compound, more stable and safer in use than metal nanoparticles. Bee venom (BV), a form of defense venom, has been shown to have anti-tumor, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-infectivity properties.

It is required for basement membrane (BM) integrity in mammary epithelium, and its loss has been associated with human breast cancer invasion. Herein, we attempted to confirm the relevance of FBLN2 to myoepithelial phenotype in mammary epithelium and to assess its expression in molecular subtypes of human breast cancer.

We analyzed DNA samples for HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1, and -DQB1 loci, from 1550 patients and 4450 potential related donors by PCR-SSO (Polymerase chain reaction sequence-specific oligonucleotides) and estimated allele frequencies in donors and patients from 1550 families who underwent bone marrow transplantation (BMT) in Egypt. We also studied the association between HLA allele frequencies and incidence of acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and severe aplastic anemia.

Professionals ( = 68) took part in a virtual reality (VR) study in which they questioned an avatar presented as a child victim of sexual or physical abuse. Of interest was how interviewers questioned the avatar, how productive the child avatar was in response, and how interviewers perceived the VR interaction.

Little is known about how menopausal symptoms may increase risk in this population. The current study aimed to understand how a comprehensive range of menopause symptoms were globally associated with problematic eating behaviors.

Male infertility has recently been linked to 50% of childless couples. It is worth mentioning that diet and its components can be manipulated and applied in counseling meetings of infertile men as a modifiable factor.

However, it is sometimes encountered in older patients. The purpose of this study was to help clinicians better understand how this disease can present differently in these age groups.

Quality in these interviews often falls short and current training programs are insufficient in enabling adherence to best practice. We present a system for simulating an interactive environment with alleged abuse victims using a child avatar.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study on 1543 middle-aged individuals, as a sub-study of the Shahedieh cohort study in Yazd.
Training child investigative interviewing skills is a specialized task. Those being trained need opportunities to practice their skills in realistic settings and receive immediate feedback. A key step in ensuring the availability of such opportunities is to develop a dynamic, conversational avatar, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology that can provide implicit and explicit feedback to trainees.

Methods: Here, we conducted an epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) using DNAm profiles in entorhinal cortex (EC) from 149 AD patients and control brains and combined these with two previously published EC datasets by meta-analysis (total n = 337).
Results: We identified 12 cytosine-phosphate-guanine (CpG) sites showing epigenome-wide significant association with either case-control status or Braak's tau-staging.
Background: Atherosclerosis is a systemic disease that causes luminal narrowing. Patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) also exhibit an increased risk of death from cardiovascular complications. This risk is the same for symptomatic or asymptomatic patients.

Liquid biopsy is important to get cell-tumour DNA (ctDNA), for subsequent utilisation as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. In clinical oncology, ctDNA analysis is utilised in cancer screening.

Chalcones are 1,3-diaryl-2-propen-1-ones, which are the precursors for flavonoids and isoflavonoids. Chalcones are readily available from a wide range of natural resources and consist of very basic chemical scaffolds.

The decline in episodic memory (EM) performance is a hallmark of cognitive aging and an early clinical sign in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In this study, we conducted an epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) using DNA methylation (DNAm) profiles from buccal and blood samples for cross-sectional (n = 1019) and longitudinal changes in EM performance (n = 626; average follow-up time 5.4 years) collected under the auspices of the Lifebrain consortium project.
