This study aims to assess and compare the shrinkage, accuracy, and accuracy stability of a novel 3D-printing model resin and eight commercially available 3D-printing model resin materials. The experimental model resin was developed by our 3D-printing proprietary resin technology. Eight commercially available 3D-printing model resins were included for comparison.

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial included 46 TBI patients who were randomly assigned to receive either a probiotic supplement (n = 23) or a placebo (n = 23) for 14 days.

A majority of Muslim American college students have grown up exclusively within a post-9/11 climate of surveillance and discrimination. Recent events such as the Trump administration's "Muslim ban" and the Israel-Hamas War have led to additional spikes in Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslim Americans. Developmentally, college students are particularly susceptible to the impacts of discrimination because of the identity exploration that occurs during emerging adulthood.

HLA alleles are representative of ethnicities and may play important roles in predisposition to hematological disorders. We analyzed DNA samples for HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1, and -DQB1 loci, from 1550 patients and 4450 potential related donors by PCR-SSO (Polymerase chain reaction sequence-specific oligonucleotides) and estimated allele frequencies in donors and patients from 1550 families who underwent bone marrow transplantation (BMT) in Egypt. We also studied the association between HLA allele frequencies and incidence of acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and severe aplastic anemia.

Using an AI-based avatar for interviewer training at Children's Advocacy Centers: Proof of Concept.

This proof-of- concept study focused on interviewers' behaviors and perceptions when interacting with a dynamic AI child avatar alleging abuse. Professionals ( = 68) took part in a virtual reality (VR) study in which they questioned an avatar presented as a child victim of sexual or physical abuse. Of interest was how interviewers questioned the avatar, how productive the child avatar was in response, and how interviewers perceived the VR interaction.

Midlife individuals assigned female at birth are at risk for problematic eating behavior, associated with negative health outcomes. Little is known about how menopausal symptoms may increase risk in this population. The current study aimed to understand how a comprehensive range of menopause symptoms were globally associated with problematic eating behaviors.

Background: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a condition that classically affects obese women of child-bearing age. However, it is sometimes encountered in older patients. The purpose of this study was to help clinicians better understand how this disease can present differently in these age groups.

Quality in these interviews often falls short and current training programs are insufficient in enabling adherence to best practice. We present a system for simulating an interactive environment with alleged abuse victims using a child avatar.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study on 1543 middle-aged individuals, as a sub-study of the Shahedieh cohort study in Yazd.

Enhancing questioning skills through child avatar chatbot training with feedback.

Training child investigative interviewing skills is a specialized task. Those being trained need opportunities to practice their skills in realistic settings and receive immediate feedback. A key step in ensuring the availability of such opportunities is to develop a dynamic, conversational avatar, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology that can provide implicit and explicit feedback to trainees.

Background: Studies on DNA methylation (DNAm) in Alzheimer's disease (AD) have recently highlighted several genomic loci showing association with disease onset and progression.

Methods: Here, we conducted an epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) using DNAm profiles in entorhinal cortex (EC) from 149 AD patients and control brains and combined these with two previously published EC datasets by meta-analysis (total n = 337).

Results: We identified 12 cytosine-phosphate-guanine (CpG) sites showing epigenome-wide significant association with either case-control status or Braak's tau-staging.

Chalcones are readily available from a wide range of natural resources and consist of very basic chemical scaffolds.

Background: The adverse health effects of silica are still a major concern in some industries. The purpose of this study was to evaluate pulmonary function in a group of sub-radiological silicotic workers after 11 years of silica dust exposure.

Methods: The study sample consisted of 381 exposed and 254 non-exposed workers.

The decline in episodic memory (EM) performance is a hallmark of cognitive aging and an early clinical sign in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In this study, we conducted an epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) using DNA methylation (DNAm) profiles from buccal and blood samples for cross-sectional (n = 1019) and longitudinal changes in EM performance (n = 626; average follow-up time 5.4 years) collected under the auspices of the Lifebrain consortium project.

A case of COVID-19-associated rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis caused by with a review of the literature.

A fatal case of COVID-19-associated mucormycosis (CAM) affected a 40-year-old woman who was initially admitted to our hospital due to a SARS-CoV-2 infection. Her clinical condition worsened, and she finally died because of respiratory failure, hemodynamic instability, and mucormycosis with invasion into the orbit and probably the brain. According to DNA sequence analysis of the fungus isolated from the patient, was involved.
