Introduction: Noise in the operating room is an ongoing problem that impacts the outcome of any surgery. Noise as a stressor can produce a startling reaction and activate the fight or flight response of the autonomic and endocrine systems. The psychobiology of stress as assessed by salivary cortisol level is a sensitive measure of allostatic load.

Re-excision of infiltrated margin(s) detected on paraffin section histology (PSH) needs reoperation, adding time, inconvenience and cost. Intra-operative assessment of margins using frozen section histology (IFSH) can potentially obviate need for re-operation, thus facilitating one-step oncologically complete BCS.

In this cohort study conducted on patients with advanced breast cancer treated with primary systemic therapy (PST), the TILs concentration was correlated with response to PST and survival outcomes.
Methods: Patients with primary breast cancer treated with PST between 2016 and 2020 were included in this study, approved by IEC, and registered on ClinicalTrials.
Background: Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) are catecholamine producing tumors of chromaffin cell origin, known to cause varied cardiovascular manifestations from hypertension to myocardial infarction. This study sought to objectively evaluate the cardiac changes in PPGL patients and their reversal following curative surgery.
Methods: The PheoCard study was registered in ClinicalTrials.
Introduction: Digital Mammography (DM) is extensively used for breast imaging however, lesion visibility is often limited by overlapping tissues, which affects lesion characterization. Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) reduces the effect of overlapping tissues and helps in revealing obscured findings. We aimed to describe the mammographic findings in granulomatous and non-granulomatous mastitis and assess the utility of adjunctive DBT in lesion characterization.

Design: Retrospective study design in a tertiary health care centre in Northern India.
Methods: A total of 47 patients with biochemical and histologically proven pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (PCC/PGL): 29 associated with VHL and 18 with MEN2A, were divided in two cohorts, respectively.
Introduction: In modern day surgical practice, patients and their relatives garner more knowledge through websites rather than direct interaction with the consultant physician. We aimed to assess whether Indian endocrine surgery websites matched with their counterparts abroad.
Materials & Methods: We identified 60 endocrine surgery websites worldwide and 12 endocrine surgery websites maintained by trained endocrine surgeons from India.
Introduction: When thyroidectomy is performed under optimal conditions within a milieu of sound anatomical and physiological knowledge combined with meticulous surgical skills, complications are minimal. However, thyroidectomy can be difficult, and its complications can be life-threatening. The factors that predict difficult thyroidectomy can be patient-, thyroid-, or surgeon-related, and we aimed to study these three factors.

ATC may originate de novo or from preexisting differentiated thyroid cancer. Complex interaction between different gene mutation has been suggested to be the main causative factor for origin of ATC in both pathways.

To select the appropriate statistical method, one need to know the assumption and conditions of the statistical methods, so that proper statistical method can be selected for data analysis. Two main statistical methods are used in data analysis: descriptive statistics, which summarizes data using indexes such as mean and median and another is inferential statistics, which draw conclusions from data using statistical tests such as student's t-test.

The patients and relatives feel apprehensive when advised about surgical/interventional treatment. Storytelling is such a technique of health communication made in common man language and can operate in a virtual environment.

Surgical exploration is traditionally performed through conventional open neck approach. A wide range of minimal access and minimally invasive endoscopic techniques (gas less and with gas) have been attempted in the past two decades.

Exophthalmos is one of the commonest manifestations of Graves' associated ophthalmopathy. It is reported to regress after thyroidectomy favourably compared to radioiodine or antithyroid drug therapy.

Aims: The aim of this study was to study clinico-pathologic profile and outcome of ACC in children and adults.
Background: Hypocalcaemia following total thyroidectomy is a major contributing factor in delayed hospital discharge and dissuading surgeons from day care thyroidectomy. We prospectively evaluated the utility of Intra-operative serum quick parathyroid hormone level measurement twenty minutes after total thyroidectomy in predicting post-operative hypocalcemia.
Material And Methods: Prospective longitudinal study which included patients undergoing total thyroidectomy for benign or malignant thyroid disorders at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, India from November 2013 to February 2015.

We conducted a prospective study (between November 2013 and January 2015) to identify "foot at risk" in the diabetic renal transplant patients at a Tertiary Care Hospital in India. Patients (151) were divided into three groups: diabetic transplant recipients (n = 42), new onset diabetes after transplantation (NODAT) (n = 59), and controls (nondiabetic renal transplant recipients) (n = 50). Foot neuropathy and vasculopathy were assessed by standard methods.

Fine-needle aspiration cytology of presumed thyroid swelling from one of the two sites aspirated yielded clear fluid but was not attributed to parathyroid pathology. Elevated serum calcium and intact parathormone (iPTH) levels suggested preoperative parathyroid pathology.
