Self-treatment with vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements has become increasingly common among patients for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. Magnesium, in particular, is popular on social media for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. Meanwhile, preclinical studies support associations between magnesium status, sleep quality, and symptoms of anxiety.

Nonthermal plasma processing is a chemical-free and environmentally friendly technique to enhance the self-cleaning activity of nanoparticle-coated cotton fabrics. In this research, Sr-doped ZnO/carbon nanotube (CNT) photocatalysts, namely, SZC, SZC, and SZC with different Sr doping concentrations, were synthesized using the sol-gel method and coated on plasma-functionalized fabric to perform the self-cleaning tests. The fabrics were treated with dielectric barrier discharge plasma in an open environment for 3 min to achieve a stable coating of nanoparticles.

Nonthermal plasma is a well-recognized environmentally advantageous method for producing green fuels. This work used different photocatalysts, including PZO, SZO, and SZC for hydrogen production using an atmospheric argon coaxial dielectric barrier discharge (DBD)-based light source. The photocatalysts were produced using a sol-gel route.

Article Synopsis
  • The kidney is vulnerable to damage from reactive oxygen species, leading to serious conditions like glomerulosclerosis and renal failure, which is a major cause of death globally.
  • Oxidative stress and inflammation significantly contribute to kidney injuries and diseases, emphasizing the need for protective measures.
  • Flavonoids, found in various plants, have demonstrated nephroprotective properties by reducing oxidative stress, lowering inflammation, and preventing cell death, highlighting their potential benefits in kidney health.

The use of non-thermal plasma technology in producing green fuels is a much-appreciated environmentally friendly approach. In this study, an AlO-supported CrZnS semiconductor catalyst was tested for hydrogen evolution from hydrogen sulfide (HS) gas by using a single-layered dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system. The AlO-supported CrZnS catalyst (x = 0.

This paper describes the synthesis and characterization of Zn decorated (adipic and terephthalic acid as linkers) piperazine-based metal-organic framework () and their extraction behavior toward the Chicago sky blue (CSB) dye. The formation of Zn-decorated was confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, BET surface area analysis and TGA. Adsorption behavior of the synthesized was explored through solid-phase adsorption (batch method) prior to UV-Vis spectrophotometric determination.

For the synthesis of a highly active TiO-chitosan nanocomposite, pH plays a crucial role towards controlling its morphology, size, crystallinity, thermal stability, and surface adsorption properties. The presence of chitosan (CS) biopolymer facilitates greater sustainability to the photoexcited electrons and holes on the catalysts' surface. The variation of synthesis pH from 2 to 5 resulted in different physico-chemical and photocatalytic properties, whereby a pH of 3 resulted in TiO-chitosan nanocomposite with the highest photocatalytic degradation (above 99 %) of methylene orange (MO) dye.

To study the life processes of all eukaryotes, yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) is a significant model organism. It is also one of the best models to study the responses of genes at transcriptional level. In a living organism, gene expression is changed by chemical stresses.
