Plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL) is a rare variant of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients. It accounts for only 2% of all acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related lymphomas (ARLs).
