Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified hundreds of genetic signals associated with autoimmune disease. The majority of these signals are located in non-coding regions and likely impact -regulatory elements (cRE). Because cRE function is dynamic across cell types and states, profiling the epigenetic status of cRE across physiological processes is necessary to characterize the molecular mechanisms by which autoimmune variants contribute to disease risk.

Colloidal FAPbBr perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) enhance radiative recombination, making them efficient for pure-green PeLEDs. However, their low stability and surface defects limit their practical application.

Here, we present a click-chemistry-based protocol for detecting 4-OI-alkylated proteins in mouse primary bone-marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) by using an itaconate-alkyne (ITalk) probe. We describe steps for culturing and treating BMDMs and details on using click chemistry in the cell lysate.

Objective: To investigate the protective effect of lanthanum chloride on kidney injury in chronic kidney disease and its mechanism.
Methods: 1. Patients with CKD stage 2-5 were selected to analyze the effect of lanthanum-containing preparations on CKD.
Based on current challenges of poor targeting and limited choices in chemical control methods of cyanobacterial blooms (CBs), identifying new targets is an urgent and formidable task in the quest for target-based algaecides. This study discovered -acylamino saccharin derivatives exhibiting potent algicidal activity. Thus, using -acylamino saccharin as the probes, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase from cyanobacterial (GAPDH) was identified as a new target of algaecides through the activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) strategy for the first time.

Background: Tumor vaccines have achieved remarkable progress in treating patients with various tumors in clinical studies. Nevertheless, extensive research has also revealed that tumor vaccines are not up to expectations for the treatment of solid tumors due to their low immunogenicity. Therefore, there is an urgent need to design a tumor vaccine that can stimulate a broad anti-tumor immune response.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare different intensities of aerobic exercise for patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in terms of glycemic control, pain relief, and functional outcomes.
Methods: A prospective randomized open-label parallel multicenter clinical trial conducted at two hospitals in Shanghai and Sichuan that included 228 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Enrollment occurred between January 2021 and February 2023, and follow-up was completed in September 2023.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to describe the maximum exposure of the infraorbital region via the orbital floor using the transnasal prelacrimal recess approach (PLRA), and to provide an anatomical basis for treating lesions in the infraorbital region.
Methods: Ten freshly injected frozen heads were dissected using the PLRA. The orbital floor was removed along the border of the medial infraorbital quadrangle, and the periorbita was opened to expose the infraorbital region.
One of the most robust synthetic lethal interactions observed in multiple functional genomic screens has been the dependency on protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) in cancer cells with MTAP deletion. We report the discovery of the clinical stage MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor AMG 193, which preferentially binds PRMT5 in the presence of MTA and has potent biochemical and cellular activity in MTAP-deleted cells across multiple cancer lineages. In vitro, PRMT5 inhibition induces DNA damage, cell cycle arrest, and aberrant alternative mRNA splicing in MTAP-deleted cells.

Most co-expression analyses to date have been performed on gene expression data collected from bulk tissues with different cell type compositions across samples. As a result, the co-expression estimates only offer an aggregated view of the underlying gene regulations and can be confounded by heterogeneity in cell type compositions, failing to reveal gene coordination that may be distinct across different cell types.

However, it remains unclear whether these benefits observed in animal studies also work in humans. The aims of this study are to examine the effects of dietary choline intake on cognitive function and cognitive decline during ageing in middle-aged and elderly Chinese.

After optimization of the thermally activated foaming, the design and fabrication of the SPE column, and the automatic analytical system, the DLP 3D-printed SPE column with the thermally expanded monolithic foam extracted the metal ions with up to 14.8-fold enhancement (relative to that without incorporating the microspheres), with absolute extraction efficiencies all higher than 95.

The nanosensor is a field-effect transistor (FET) with monolayer graphene as the conducting channel and is functionalized with a new custom-designed aptamer for specific AVP recognition. Binding between the aptamer and AVP induces a change in the carrier density in the graphene and resulting in measurable changes in FET characteristics for determination of the AVP concentration.

Genomic integration of heterologous genes is the preferred approach in industrial fermentation-related strains due to the drawbacks associated with plasmid-mediated microbial fermentation, including additional growth burden, genetic instability, and antibiotic contamination. Synthetic biology and genome editing advancements have made gene integration convenient. Integrated expression is extensively used in the field of biomanufacturing and is anticipated to become the prevailing method for expressing recombinant proteins.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2022 to April 2023, involving 417 individuals over the age of 60 who were interviewed using an instrument for collecting data on DHL, social support, barriers/enhancers influencing use of digital health resources and personal/demographic data.
Background: Immunotherapy has become the standard treatment for driving gene-negative advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, compared to PD-L1-positive patients, the efficacy of Anti-PD-(L)1 monotherapy is suboptimal in PD-L1-negative advanced NSCLC. In this study, we aim to analyze the optimal immunotherapy approach for PD-L1-negative NSCLC patients and develop a new nomogram to enhance the clinical predictability of immunotherapy for NSCLC patients.
