Many studies have found that targeted cardiac metabolic remodeling has good potential for the treatment of heart failure. However, most of the drugs that increase cardiac energy are still in the theoretical or testing stage.

Methods: A mouse permanent myocardial infarction (MI) model was established, followed by a 14-day daily treatment with DHI, DHI plus GW4869 (an exosomal inhibitor), or saline. Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS)-induced ECs-derived exosomes were isolated, analyzed by miRNA microarray and validated by droplet digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR).

Effective strategies are needed to alleviate side effects and prevent the physical and psychosocial degeneration of patients in active treatment for haematological malignancies.
Aim: To explore the effects of physical exercise on quality of life (QoL) of patients with haematological malignancies and thrombocytopenia.
Chronic airway inflammation mediated by CD8 T lymphocytes contributes to the pathogenesis of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Deciphering the fingerprint of the chronic inflammation orchestrated by CD8 T cells may allow the development of novel approaches to COPD management. Here, the expression of IL-27 and IFN-γ CD8 Tc1 cells were evaluated in patients with COPD and in cigarette smoke-exposed mice.

The environmental stable nanocage-coating-CSO particles (OGC-Ca) by the frameworks consist of gliadins, carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) and Ca were investigated. Results showed Ca was the key controller for fabricating this nanocage-coating-frameworks, bridging macromolecule-chains with electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonds, detected by FTIR, CD, DSC and XRD.

Epidemiological and clinical characteristics of patients with COVID-19 have been reported, but the relationships between laboratory features and viral load has not been comprehensively described.
Methods: Adult inpatients (≥18 years old) with COVID-19 who underwent multiple (≥5 times) nucleic acid tests with nasal and pharyngeal swabs were recruited from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, including general patients (n = 70), severe patients (n = 195), and critical patients (n = 43).
Purpose: We have shown that activation of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK)-RAS pathway in gastric adenocarcinoma (GA) promotes acquisition of cancer stem-like cell (CSC) phenotypes including metastasis and chemotherapy resistance. Here, we evaluated the prognostic value of the CSC marker CD44 and the RTK-RAS activation marker phosphorylated MEK (p-MEK) in patients with resectable GA.
Methods: CD44 and p-MEK were measured in tumors from GA patients who underwent curative-intent gastrectomy at Fujian Medical University Union Hospital (FMUUH, n = 134) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC, n = 56).
Background: Angiogenesis plays critical roles in the progression and metastasis of malignant tumors. Gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma is an uncommon stomach cancer that is rich in blood vessels and exhibits highly malignant biological behavior with a poor prognosis. The role of CDK5RAP3 in GNEC has not been reported to date.

Methods: A myocardial infarction (MI) mouse model was induced by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery.
Background: UFM1 has been found to be involved in the regulation of tumor development. This study aims to clarify the role and potential molecular mechanisms of UFM1 in the invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer.
Methods: Expression of UFM1 in gastric tumor and paired adjacent noncancerous tissues from 437 patients was analyzed by Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and realtime PCR.
Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) may play a critical role in smoking-related chronic airway inflammation. However, the mechanism by which NETs induced by cigarette smoke initiate the adaptive immunity in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is not fully understood. In this study, we explored the effects of NETs induced by cigarette smoke on the myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs) and Th1 and Th17 cells.

The present study aimed to clone human C53 isoform d (IC53d) and explore its role in the proliferation of gastric cancer cells. Reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression levels of IC53d in 80 primary gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and adjacent normal tissues.

Materials And Methods: Data pertaining to 541 clinically lymph node-negative PTMC patients who underwent thyroid surgery at the Shanghai General Hospital between January 2010 and December 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. According to histopathological evidence of central lymph node involvement, patients were divided into central lymph node metastasis (CLNM)-positive and CLNM-negative groups; risk factors for CLNM were identified statistically.
Background: Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) represent a distinct strategy by which neutrophils trap, confine and eliminate invading microorganisms. Emerging evidence suggests that NETs exert a deleterious effect to the host in the absence of microbial stimuli. However, the role of NETs in smoking-related lung diseases remains to be elucidated.

However, the immune regulation between Th1 and Th17 cells remains unclear. Previous studies have demonstrated that interleukin-27 (IL-27)/WSX-1 exerted pro- or anti-inflammatory effects in many acute inflammatory diseases by modulating T cell-mediated immune response, but little was known about its role in chronic inflammatory disease, especially in smoking-related lung diseases.

We investigated the role of the CD40/CD40L pathway in Tc1 cell differentiation induced by dendritic cells in a mouse model of emphysema, and in vitro. C57BL/6J wild-type and CD40(-/-) mice were exposed to cigarette smoke (CS) or not (control), for 24 wk.
