A Heisenberg spin-chain with alternating ferromagnetic (FM) (-J1F<0) and antiferromagnetic (J1A>0) nearest-neighbor (NN) interactions, exhibits the dimer and spin-2Haldane phases in the limitsJ1F/J1A→0andJ1F/J1A→∞respectively. These two phases are understood to be topologically equivalent. Induction of the frustration through the next NN FM interaction (-J2F<0) produces a very rich quantum phase diagram.

In this Letter a unique high-precision measurement of the strong interaction between kaons and protons, close and above the kinematic threshold, is presented. The femtoscopic measurements of the correlation function at low pair-frame relative momentum of (K^{+}p⊕K^{-}p[over ¯]) and (K^{-}p⊕K^{+}p[over ¯]) pairs measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=5, 7, and 13 TeV are reported.

Urine-derived stem cells (USCs) are considered as desirable cell sources for cell therapy because donor-specific USCs are easily and non-invasively obtained from urine. Efficient isolation, expansion, and differentiation methods of USCs are necessary to increase their availability.

Additionally, their adsorption characteristics and corrosion inhibition behavior were compared for mild steel in 1 M HCl using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss methods. Compound B was found to impart a better anti-corrosive effect (around 95% inhibition efficiency at 313 K) than compound A.

In 2008, we estimated that 20 million influenza-virus-associated ALRI and 1 million influenza-virus-associated severe ALRI occurred in children under 5 years globally. Despite this substantial burden, only a few low-income and middle-income countries have adopted routine influenza vaccination policies for children and, where present, these have achieved only low or unknown levels of vaccine uptake.

This study was aimed to compare the long-term outcomes and survival rate among mitral valve replacement using thoracotomy and standard median sternotomy in a single surgeon's practice. Total 250 patients were evaluated; Group I (n=65) patients had anterolateral thoracotomy and Group II (n=185) had standard median sternotomy for valve replacement. Mean age was 25.

In low-middle income countries (LMICs), the capacity for screening and treatment of UTIs is limited. The objective of this study was to describe the population-based prevalence, risk factors, etiology and antimicrobial resistance patterns of UTIs in pregnancy in Bangladesh.

The ongoing global pandemic due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is in the crucial stage. The vaccine is still at the developing stage. Currently, the only way to check the spreading of this virus is self-isolation.

This study examines the breadth and quality of AMS survey tools measuring the stewardship knowledge, perceptions and practices (KPP) of CPs and analyse survey outcomes. Following PRISMA-ScR checklist and Arksey and O'Malley's methodological framework seven medical databases were searched.

We revealed the mechanism underlying this translocation by examining the effect of membrane potential, φ, on the entry of a CPP, transportan 10 (TP10), into the lumen of single giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs). For this purpose, we used the single GUV method to detect the entry of carboxyfluorescein (CF)-labeled TP10 (CF-TP10) into the lumen of single GUVs.

Fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) are an emerging class of nanomaterials in the carbon family. There are various inexpensive and renewable resources that can be used to synthesize green CDs, which have received immense attention from researchers because of their improved aqueous solubility, high biocompatibility, and eco-friendly nature compared with chemically derived CDs. Additional surface passivation is not required, as heteroatoms are present on the surface of green CDs in the form of amine, hydroxyl, carboxyl, or thiol functional groups, which can improve their physicochemical properties, quantum yield, and the probability of visible light absorption.

Its increasing use, specifically in light of the ongoing outbreak of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Salmonella Typhi (resistant to chloramphenicol, ampicillin, cotrimoxazole, streptomycin, fluoroquinolones and third-generation cephalosporins) in Pakistan, places selective pressure for the emergence and spread of azithromycin-resistant isolates. However, little is known about azithromycin resistance in Salmonella, and no molecular data are available on its mechanism.

To exemplify the significance of the use of multichamber strain, we have provided some illustrations of common cardiac problems. The recently published European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) consensus document for standardization of RV, RA, and LA strain, using the currently available software, has fulfilled the aspirations of investigators world over who have been studying atrial strain using a bailed-out algorithm designed principally to quantify left ventricular deformation.

Two-photon lithography (TPL)-based submicrometer additive manufacturing is a promising candidate to fill this gap. HCC is the fifth most common cancer, the third most common cause for cancer related death in the world and responsible for approximately one million deaths each year. The incidence of HCC is expected to increase in the next two decades, largely due to hepatitis C infection and secondary cirrhosis.
