The evolving concept of "[a]geing in the right place (AIRP)" (Iciaszczyk et al. 2022: 1) underscores the importance of enabling older adults to receive comprehensive care and support across various settings. There is growing evidence that innovative technologies can empower more persons to maintain their autonomy while better ensuring their safety, well-being and quality of life and also improve the experience of family caregivers and paid care providers.

Arbovirus-borne dengue fever remains a global public health threat. The actual burden of dengue infection may be underestimated due to undiagnosed or misdiagnosed fever cases. The distribution of dengue is influenced by both climatic and nonclimatic factors, including global warming, which affects the vector population and transmission period.

The 4-week threshold for defining walled-off necrosis does not capture the dynamic process of encapsulation. We aim to investigate the changes in the wall characteristics of PFC in acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) by comparing baseline contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) with follow-up CT scans.

Water contamination is a major environmental issue, especially in rapidly growing industrialized areas like Singrauli. This study addresses research gaps regarding the hydrochemical characterization, health risk assessment, and source identification of contaminants. Hydrochemistry shows the concentrations of Na, Ca, F, Mn, As, Mo, Sr, and Ni were above the permissible limit for drinking usage.

A systematic review and meta-analysis to develop a landscape map of antibiotic resistance for six WHO priority pathogens in east and north-east India from 2011 to 2022.

Background: Determining regional patterns of antimicrobial resistance in bacterial infections in the healthcare setting (AMR) identifies surveillance gaps and informs policies for mitigation. We estimated the prevalence of AMR for six WHO priority pathogens in diagnostic and surveillance samples in the twelve east and north-east Indian states from 2011 to 2022 (PROSPERO ID: CRD42021278961).

Combination of Searches for Higgs Boson Pair Production in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents results from a combination of searches for Higgs boson pair production using 126-140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. At 95% confidence level (CL), the upper limit on the production rate is 2.9 times the standard model (SM) prediction, with an expected limit of 2.

Studies of the Energy Dependence of Diboson Polarization Fractions and the Radiation-Amplitude-Zero Effect in WZ Production with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents the first study of the energy dependence of diboson polarization fractions in WZ→ℓνℓ^{'}ℓ^{'}(ℓ,ℓ^{'}=e,μ) production. The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined.

Obesity and osteoporosis are two prevalent conditions that are becoming increasingly common worldwide, primarily due to aging populations, imbalanced energy intake, and sedentary lifestyles. Obesity, characterized by excessive fat accumulation, and osteoporosis, marked by reduced bone density and increased fracture risk, are often interconnected. High-fat diets (HFDs) can exacerbate both conditions by promoting bone marrow adiposity and bone loss.

For an effective control of tuberculosis (TB), there is a persistent need for biomarkers that can report true estimates of TB infection (TBI) and predict its progression towards active TB disease. We investigated whether the cell-mediated immune responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) antigens could provide such biomarkers. Aims: Differentiated vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) express a unique network of mRNA isoforms via smooth muscle-specific alternative pre-mRNA splicing (SM-AS) in functionally critical genes, including those comprising the contractile machinery. We previously described RNA Binding Protein with Multiple Splicing (RBPMS) as a potent driver of differentiated SM-AS in the rat PAC1 VSMC cell line. What is unknown is how RBPMS affects VSMC phenotype and behaviour.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in ulcerative colitis.

Interest in artificial intelligence (AI) applications for ulcerative colitis (UC) has grown tremendously in recent years. In the past 5 years, there have been over 80 studies focused on machine learning (ML) tools to address a wide range of clinical problems in UC, including diagnosis, prognosis, identification of new UC biomarkers, monitoring of disease activity, and prediction of complications. AI classifiers such as random forest, support vector machines, neural networks, and logistic regression models have been used to model UC clinical outcomes using molecular (transcriptomic) and clinical (electronic health record and laboratory) datasets with relatively high performance (accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity).

Imaging-based spatial transcriptomics technologies such as Multiplexed error-robust fluorescence in situ hybridization (MERFISH) can capture cellular processes in unparalleled detail. However, rigorous and robust analytical tools are needed to unlock their full potential for discovering subcellular biological patterns. We present Intracellular Spatial Transcriptomic Analysis Toolkit (InSTAnT), a computational toolkit for extracting molecular relationships from spatial transcriptomics data at single molecule resolution.

ISCCM Position Statement on the Management of Invasive Fungal Infections in the Intensive Care Unit.

Rationale: Invasive fungal infections (IFI) in the intensive care unit (ICU) are an emerging problem owing to the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, immunosuppressive agents, and frequency of indwelling catheters. Timely diagnosis which is imperative to improve outcomes can be challenging. This position statement is aimed at understanding risk factors, providing a rational diagnostic approach, and guiding clinicians to optimize antifungal therapy.

ISCCM Position Statement for Improving Gender Balance in Critical Care Medicine.

Unlabelled: Gender disparity in Critical Care Medicine (CCM) persists globally, with women being underrepresented. Female Intensivists remain a minority, facing challenges in academic and leadership positions at the workplace and within academic societies. The Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) recognized the need for addressing issues related to gender parity and constituted its first Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee in 2023.

Interictal intracranial EEG asymmetry lateralizes temporal lobe epilepsy.

Patients with drug-resistant temporal lobe epilepsy often undergo intracranial EEG recording to capture multiple seizures in order to lateralize the seizure onset zone. This process is associated with morbidity and often ends in postoperative seizure recurrence. Abundant interictal (between-seizure) data are captured during this process, but these data currently play a small role in surgical planning.
