The authors examined a total of 64 patients with idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases, 33 patients with Crohn's disease and 31 patients with proctocolitis to assess the possible frequency of pulmonary complications. An impaired ventilation was recorded in 33% patients with Crohn's disease and 25% patients who proctocolitis, in both groups an obstructive ventilation disorder predominated. In four patients (12.

The growth and morphological features of cultivated tumours were mostly connected with their original histological structure and biological behaviour. Epithelial structures from adenoma and carcinoma survived longer than those from non-tumorous lesions.

Electrical impedance of the two sublines was compared at 100 kHz in a special measuring device connected with an apparatus used for impedance measurement in clinics. Significantly lower values of impedance characterized the LC3 cells, which induced more sarcomas in susceptibility hosts than the L-As cells.

Biological changes in tissue also affect its biophysical and consequently its electrical properties. By the method here described, high-frequency current is caused to flow through the tissue under examination and the voltage decrease is measured. Measuring equipment of the author's own design has been developed for routine use of the method.
