The poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) have demonstrated efficacy in ovarian, breast, and prostate cancers, but current biomarkers do not consistently predict clinical benefit. F-fluorthanatrace (F-FTT) is an analog to rucaparib, a clinically approved PARPi, and is a candidate biomarker for PARPi response. Background: Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) with positron emission tomography (PET) is the standard for detecting myocardial inflammation in cardiac sarcoidosis, requiring preparation with the ketogenic diet (KD) to achieve myocardial glucose suppression. Despite this, incomplete myocardial glucose suppression remains a significant issue, and strategies to reduce myocardial glucose uptake (MGU) and identify incomplete myocardial glucose suppression are required. This study sought to understand the relationship between point-of-care beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) and different patterns of MGU and between KD and fasting duration with MGU in patients undergoing evaluation for cardiac sarcoidosis.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a local natural healing service program and to explore how engagement in natural healing services related to the well-being of survivors of domestic violence. Using longitudinal secondary data, we conducted -tests, regression, and correlation analysis on three measures (hope, distress, and empowerment) that were completed by the participants ( = 31). We provided evidence of the positive impact of a community-based natural healing services program on the well-being of survivors of domestic violence, specifically their sense of hope.

Unlabelled: The controlled release of mitochondrial content into the cytosol has emerged as one of the key steps in mitochondrial signaling. In particular, the release of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) into the cytosol has been shown to activate interferon beta (IFN-β) gene expression to execute the innate immune response. The calcified chondroid mesenchymal neoplasm (CCMN) represents a recently recognized tumor type with only 50 well-documented cases in the English-language literature. Herein we report an additional case of CCMN presenting as a large mass in the temporomandibular joint region of a 41-year-old female. A review of previously reported cases and the current case of CCMN shows the following features: 1) average age 52 years (range 14-87 years) and an approximately even sex distribution; 2) most frequently involved sites: distal extremities (including foot, hand, wrist, forearm) (n=41) and temporomandibular joint/temporal/parotid region (n=9); 3) multilobular soft tissue tumor with chondroid to cartilaginous matrix, often grungy or lace-like calcifications, and variable cytologic atypia; 4) frequently detected FN1 rearrangement (n=15), including FN1 fusion with FGFR2 (n=7) or other receptor tyrosine kinases; 5) 2 reported local recurrences (after incomplete excision); 6) no reports of malignant biologic behavior.

Purpose: Immunologic response to anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) therapy can occur rapidly with T-cell responses detectable in as little as one week. Given that activated immune cells are FDG avid, we hypothesized that an early FDG PET/CT obtained approximately 1 week after starting pembrolizumab could be used to visualize a metabolic flare (MF), with increased tumor FDG activity due to infiltration by activated immune cells, or a metabolic response (MR), due to tumor cell death, that would predict response.

Metal-organic decomposition epitaxy is an economical wet-chemical approach suitable to synthesize high-quality low-spin-damping films for resonator and oscillator applications. This work reports the temperature dependence of ferromagnetic resonances and associated structural and magnetic quantities of yttrium iron garnet nanofilms that coincide with single-crystal values. Despite imperfections originating from wet-chemical deposition and spin coating, the quality factor for out-of-plane and in-plane resonances approaches 600 and 1000, respectively, at room temperature and 40 GHz.
