Background: Guidelines state that all hospitalized children with suspected or confirmed influenza receive prompt treatment with influenza-specific antivirals. We sought to determine the frequency of, and factors associated with, antiviral receipt among hospitalized children.

Background: Pediatric hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) recipients are at high-risk for morbidity from influenza virus infection. We demonstrated in a primary phase II randomized controlled trial that two post-HCT doses of high-dose trivalent influenza vaccine (HD-TIV) given four weeks apart were more immunogenic than two doses of standard-dose quadrivalent influenza vaccine (SD-QIV). Herein, we present immunogenicity and safety of influenza vaccination in a consecutive season post-HCT using the same dosing regimen.

Purpose: To develop and validate a data acquisition scheme combined with a motion-resolved reconstruction and dictionary-matching-based parameter estimation to enable free-breathing isotropic resolution self-navigated whole-liver simultaneous water-specific ( ) and ( ) mapping for the characterization of diffuse and oncological liver diseases.

Methods: The proposed data acquisition consists of a magnetization preparation pulse and a two-echo gradient echo readout with a radial stack-of-stars trajectory, repeated with different preparations to achieve different and contrasts in a fixed acquisition time of 6 min. We describe the gram-scale synthesis of (-)-(1,2,3,4,5,6)-1,3-di(diamino)-1,3-diazido-2,5,6-tri--benzylstreptamine from streptomycin by (i) hydrolysis of the two streptomycin guanidine residues, (ii) reprotection of the amines as azides, (iii) protection of all alcohols as benzyl ethers, and (iv) glycosidic bond cleavage with HCl in methanol. Protocols for regioselective monodebenzylation and regioselective reduction of a single azide in the product are also described, providing four optically pure building blocks for exploitation in novel aminoglycoside synthesis.
