Purpose: Intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF agents are considered as safe, with a very low rate of intraocular inflammations (IOI). Faricimab is a novel intravitreal bispecific antibody targeting both VEGF-A and angiopoietin-Tie2 independently. Despite a safe profile in randomized clinical trials, several real-life studies have reported cases of IOI.

Methods: We conducted a phase 1b-2 study of talquetamab plus teclistamab in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. In phase 1, we investigated five dose levels in a dose-escalation study.
Longitudinal, non-invasive, in vivo monitoring of therapeutic gene expression is an unmet need for gene therapy (GT). Positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers designed to bind to therapeutic proteins may provide a sensitive imaging platform to guide treatment response and dose optimization in GT. Herein, we evaluate a novel PET tracer ([F]AGAL) for targeting α-galactosidase A (GLA), an enzyme deficient in Fabry disease.

Here, we demonstrate that poly-(ADP-ribose)-polymerase-11 (PARP11) is an essential regulator of immunosuppressive activities of TI-Tregs. Expression of PARP11 correlates with TI-Treg cell numbers and poor responses to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) in human patients with cancer.

Targeted exercise such as yoga therapy may buffer against treatment-related sequelae; thus, this pilot RCT examined the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a yoga intervention. Because family caregivers report low caregiving efficacy and elevated levels of distress, we included them in this trial as active study participants.

Environmental and operational conditions as well as improper maintenance can produce calibration errors inhibiting sensor fusion and, consequently, degrading the perception performance and overall system usability. Traditionally, sensor calibration is performed in a controlled environment with one or more known targets.

Early studies suggest that deletion of may underlie cardiomyopathy in patients with 1p36 deletion; however, the prognostic impact of loss is unknown.

These disorders usually present a typical pattern of autofluorescent lesions seen on short-wavelength fundus autofluorescence. We describe SADs according to their putative pathophysiological origin and also according to their clinical pattern, i.

Context: Demand for medical cannabis (MC) is growing among Israeli patients with cancer.
Objectives: The study sought to assess factors contributing to the demand for MC among patients with cancer.
Methods: Patients applying for a permit to receive MC at a pain and palliative clinic of a university-affiliated cancer center in Israel in 2020-2021 were asked to complete self-report questionnaires assessing attitudes, knowledge, and expectations regarding MC use.
Perifoveal exudative vascular anomalous complex (PEVAC) is a perifoveal aneurysmal vascular lesion found in healthy subjects. A 68-year-old woman was diagnosed with a typical unilateral and unifocal PEVAC lesion after extensive multimodal imaging and was treated with three-monthly intravitreal injections of ranibizumab. An immediate and complete resolution of the intraretinal fluid was observed.

Aim: To assess the serologic response to two doses of the mRNA SARS-CoV-2 BNT162b2 vaccine in pregnant women with IBD vaccinated during pregnancy, compared to that of pregnant women without IBD, and non-pregnant women with IBD.
Ultrasound in combination with the introduction of microbubbles into the vasculature effectively opens the blood brain barrier (BBB) to allow the passage of therapeutic agents. Increased permeability of the BBB is typically demonstrated with small-molecule agents (e.g.

Methods: TIGRIS (NCT01866904) was a prospective, multi-center (369 centers in 24 countries), observational study of patients 1 to 3 years post-MI. We sought to identify the prevalence and determinants of DAPT use ≥1 year post-MI in patients enrolled in TIGRIS.
Background And Objectives: Purine-rich element-binding protein A () gene encodes Pur-α, a conserved protein essential for normal postnatal brain development. Recently, a syndrome characterized by intellectual disability, hypotonia, epilepsy, and dysmorphic features was suggested. The aim of this study was to define and expand the phenotypic spectrum of syndrome by collecting data, including EEG, from a large cohort of affected patients.

Pathologic myopia is a major cause of visual impairment worldwide. Pathologic myopia is distinctly different from high myopia. High myopia is a high degree of myopic refractive error, whereas pathologic myopia is defined by a presence of typical complications in the fundus (posterior staphyloma or myopic maculopathy equal to or more serious than diffuse choroidal atrophy).

Methods: We conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial evaluating baricitinib plus remdesivir in hospitalized adults with Covid-19.
Purpose: To evaluate the association between quantitative optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) parameters and clinical outcomes in treatment-naïve neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) patients treated with a treat-and-extend dosing regimen on a 12-month follow-up interval.
Methods: Observational, prospective study of consecutive patients. The treatment protocol was based on a loading dose of three anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) intravitreal injections (IVI) followed by a treat-and-extend regimen.
Background: We need high-quality data to assess the determinants for COVID-19 severity in people with MS (PwMS). Several studies have recently emerged but there is great benefit in aligning data collection efforts at a global scale.
Objectives: Our mission is to scale-up COVID-19 data collection efforts and provide the MS community with data-driven insights as soon as possible.
Background: Evidence is lacking on long-term outcomes in unselected patients surviving the first year following myocardial infarction (MI).
Methods And Results: The TIGRIS (long-Term rIsk, clinical manaGement and healthcare Resource utilization of stable coronary artery dISease in post-myocardial infarction patients) prospective registry enrolled 9176 eligible patients aged ≥50 years, 1-3 years post-MI, from 25 countries. All had ≥1 risk factor: age ≥ 65 years, diabetes mellitus, second prior MI, multivessel coronary artery disease, chronic kidney disease (CKD).
The Growth Hormone Research Society (GRS) convened a Workshop in March 2019 to evaluate the diagnosis and therapy of short stature in children. Forty-six international experts participated at the invitation of GRS including clinicians, basic scientists, and representatives from regulatory agencies and the pharmaceutical industry. Following plenary presentations addressing the current diagnosis and therapy of short stature in children, breakout groups discussed questions produced in advance by the planning committee and reconvened to share the group reports.

We hypothesized that altering the proportion of macronutrients in a formula; increasing protein while decreasing carbohydrate concentrations would improve glycemic response. The objective of this study was to demonstrate that an EN formula containing a very high concentration of protein (in the form of whey peptides) and low concentration of carbohydrate provide better control of postprandial blood glucose relative to a very high-protein/higher-carbohydrate formula.

Methods: We used exome sequence data and electronic health records from 46,544 participants in the DiscovEHR human genetics study to identify genetic variants associated with serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). Variants that were replicated in three additional cohorts (12,527 persons) were evaluated for association with clinical diagnoses of chronic liver disease in DiscovEHR study participants and two independent cohorts (total of 37,173 persons) and with histopathological severity of liver disease in 2391 human liver samples.
