Background: As normal cells transform into cancers, their cell state changes, which may drive cancer cells into a stem-like or more primordial, foetal, or embryonic cell state. The transcriptomic profile of this final state may encode information about cancer's origin and how cancers relate to their normal cell counterparts.

Methods: Here, we used single-cell atlases to study cancer transformation in transcriptional terms.

Existing methods to identify these sources are either costly or unreliable. We report here a new, sensitive, and inexpensive lead detection method that relies on the formation of a perovskite semiconductor.

Background: Chronic fatigue is a common symptom among patients who have been treated for cancer. Current psychosocial interventions typically target the patient alone, despite growing evidence suggesting that a couples' approach can increase and broaden the efficacy of an intervention. Therefore, based on an existing web-based mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for patients, the couple intervention COMPANION was developed.

Yolk sac cell atlas reveals multiorgan functions during human early development.

The extraembryonic yolk sac (YS) ensures delivery of nutritional support and oxygen to the developing embryo but remains ill-defined in humans. We therefore assembled a comprehensive multiomic reference of the human YS from 3 to 8 postconception weeks by integrating single-cell protein and gene expression data. Beyond its recognized role as a site of hematopoiesis, we highlight roles in metabolism, coagulation, vascular development, and hematopoietic regulation.

A retrospective analysis of the histology of resected polyps and colonoscopy quality parameters in Belgium.

Background And Aims: adenoma detection rate is a well known quality parameter for colonoscopy. However recently other quality parameters have emerged. We wanted to evaluate the histology of the resected polyps, different quality indicators of colonoscopy and post colonoscopy colorectal cancer (PCCRC) in Belgium and analyzed data about colonoscopies performed between 2008-2015.
