Esophageal Atresia and Respiratory Morbidity.

Background And Objectives: Respiratory diseases are common in children with esophageal atresia (EA), leading to increased morbidity and mortality in the first year. The primary study objective was to identify the factors associated with readmissions for respiratory causes in the first year in EA children.

Plasma cell granuloma (PCG) is a pseudotumor of unknown origin. It is frequently accompanied by acute-phase clinical and biological signs that resume after complete surgical removal, suggesting production of soluble mediators. We therefore investigated the role of cytokines in a previously healthy 10-year-old boy with a PCG of the lung and systemic symptoms.
