Data on posaconazole serum levels of patients on prophylaxis with delayed-release tablets or oral suspension during intensive chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome are scarce. In this analysis, the proportion of patients with acute myeloid leukemia/myelodysplastic syndrome achieving posaconazole target concentrations with delayed-release tablets was higher than with oral suspension.

Introduction: Rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis (ROCM) is a rare angioinvasive fungal infection known to be associated with high morbidity and over 50% mortality. ROCM is becoming more common due to an increase in predisposing immunocompromising comorbidities as well as COVID-19.

Case Presentations: We report 2 cases - a 75-year-old woman with diabetes and a 39-year-old man with recurrent diabetic ketoacidosis.

We describe a case of rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis (ROCM) in a diabetic patient. She presented with cavernous sinus syndrome and ischemia of the optic nerve. Initially unremarkable findings in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus delayed early diagnosis.

Insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) is a growth-promoting anabolic hormone that fosters cell growth and tissue homeostasis. IGF-I deficiency is associated with several diseases, including growth disorders and neurological and musculoskeletal diseases due to impaired regeneration. Despite the vast regenerative potential of IGF-I, its unfavorable pharmacokinetic profile has prevented it from being used therapeutically.

Chronic disseminated candidiasis (CDC) is a severe complication of a disseminated yeast infection mainly seen after prolonged chemotherapy-induced neutropaenia in the context of haematological malignancy. We present a case of CDC in a patient with metamizole-induced neutropaenia. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case described in this context.
